I have 1920x1080 and it feels normal for me. Sometimes the game randomly switches to the original bf1942 resolution and it feels weird and too square.

So, is he seeing more of the battlefield at once?
I guess you’d need a fairly large monitor otherwise everything would be too small to see!
It looks wider on the sides but more squished vertically.

Mine the native reso is 1920x1080 I always have that problem with random switch from 16:9 to 4:3 esp when exit game altf4 way and I need change it again only in screen settings coz even if I turn off pc ,my the reso won’t back

Have you tried locking (read only) the file?  My settings do not change at all.

C:\BF1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings\Profiles\Custom\Video.con

game.setGameDisplayMode 2560 1440 32 144

Is modifying the default FOV value allowed in BF Liga matches? They were pretty strict with the setting changes you could accomplish in con files.

Battlefield 1942 no longer changes back to hardcoded 800x600 resolution, if you are using Battlefield 1942 Plus.
