Battlefield 1942 FREE on Origin!

tuia.
Someone is using "special" characters to crash my server.. i have applied your fix but this must be something different..
The "hacker" uses letters like these "éïüýò" at the start of the map, upon map-change the server will crash.. Banned the player using this command and restarted the server, server did not crash on map change, but someone else came in and did the same thing.. map crashed on the next load... any ideas?

BF1942 server usually crashes at map changes and it's more frequently with a higher number of players.

All of my servers have been crashing at map changes as of recently also..

Pretty sure Tobruk has played about 6 rounds in a row haha.

Do you get some information about the server crashes? Like error dialog messages?

The other server that crashed just 10 minutes ago says the same thing. I don't have the event logging enabled, should I?

Also I saw someone post in special characters like reegad was talking about, so I guess we'll see if it crashes now.

Those special characters is probably russian language.
I don't know much about Windows server usage, but you may somehow set to dump program memory when it crashes to analyze with a debugger later or a get a error dialog message like this one in this post: http://team-simple.org/forum/viewtopic. … 9717#p9717. Mind that, enabling that error dialog messages may prevent the server from restarting automatically.

Yeah, it crashed. I'll check that out

Also, reegad you can always add Russian words to the banned words list and move it so it kicks on "1", you can also ban player names doing this or simply ban the player name from BFSM if you happen to see them online.

This means BF1942 v1.612 Windows server will have keyhashes displayed. With this server executable server admins can now use BFServerManager effectively and kick or ban those troublemakers.

BF1942_w32ded-1.612-keyhash.zip, this only allows BF1942 v1.612 (Origin) players to connect to the server.

BF1942_w32ded-1.612-keyhash_all_clients.zip, accepts all BF1942 client versions - v1.6, v1.61 and v1.612.

everything works perfect.

- Admin ingame commands are back
- BFSM shows keys
- Selaron embedded serverlink shows keys
- Banlist seem to work + kicklist viewer

for linux, you just have to block auth port

iptables -I OUTPUT 1 -d 69.10.30.248 -p udp --dport 29910 -j REJECT

for windows, tuia has patched binary above

There is no change in game. BF1942 v1.6, v1.61 and v1.612 are basically the same.

I`ve running 3 Servers with this Serverfiles + Servermanager (patched).

System is a Debian 64bit squeeze
Kernel: 2.6.32-5-amd64

Since 2 weeks one Servers has Crash problems with: 2013-05-28 21:02:00 : Couldn't send message to console! Resource temporarily unavailable (11)

And this is another warning:

2013-05-28 21:04:56 : WARNING: This version of Server Manager is intended for BF v1.61 and may not work correctly with this v1.61 server.

Can anyone help me?

This is probably due to a crash bug in server executable, which is is known for long time: http://icculus.org/pipermail/bf1942/200 … 10724.html

Never mind that BFServerManager warning, it works fine. You are using server version 1.612 and it complains it may not work unless BF1942 server version is 1.61.

I think the problem with the crash bug is a big problem. In this topic you talk about a ranking. Is this the game-event logging option in bfsmd?
My Server crashes ~ two times a day. My teammates are not very happy.

total bf1942 population today is high, much higher than usual. havent seen such a daily increase in 8+ months ... odd. i'd say there has been a bf1942 announcement/commercial/ad or similar somewhere ... who can solve the mystery【・_・?】

Maybe because I didn't studied enough last year, so now I had to study almost the whole summer (and a lot of bf time).
