I recently bought a new monitor that has a native resolution of 2560x1440 and a refresh rate of 144 hz (165 hz with overclocking through the DisplayPort).
I am running henk’s patched EXE which fixes the master server list and other things, but I can’t select the desired resolution for 2560x1440. The only refresh rates available are 59 hz and 60 hz. All other resolutions support up to 120 hz.
In my VideoDefault.con, the command to allow all refresh rates is set to 1.
Why can’t I select 2560x1440@120 hz in the menu? I also have BF2 installed and I can select the desired frame rate there with the maximum resolution. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

If you drop me a link to henks exe, i can try how it behaves on my computer.
Client: https://team-simple.org/forum/viewtopic … 68#p176268
Server: https://team-simple.org/forum/viewtopic … 70#p176270

Which version are you using? This is what I’m using:

...
1. Try once run "renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1" via console and then look again.
(Check nvidia Battlefield 1942 Game Profile).
2. Btw. Just curious. You have those Resolutions and Refresh rates in Windows Settings?

I have all the resolutions all the way to 144 hz in the Windows settings. The command is set to 1, doesn’t change anything. I suspect it’s henk’s patch, I’ll try again with a fresh installation.

I hadn't noticed the "Gamespy Patch" link at the top of the Team-SiMPLE forums either. I agree that the current link showing there today is "the old version", meaning https://www.moddb.com/games/battlefield … 2org-patch.
The latest one is https://www.moddb.com/games/battlefield … org-patch1. But to my knowledge, I think the only difference was that the latest one used radiosmersh's installer instead of the Python-based installer that made antivirus cry.
Meaning the difference between "old version" and "latest version" of the patch was not a matter of different functionality in the resulting installed BF1942.EXE, but just a matter of whether your computer would have complained while you installed it.
Just tested henk's file and it seems to work aok here atleast.

Then henks patch isn’t the issue. What base game version are you using? Is it simple HD?
Could this also be caused by issuing the Display Port cable vs HDMI?

I’ll have to check the Nvidia Control Panel, perhaps I missed something.
Sounds like an issue with the cable I used to plug in my monitor. The display port seems to have a limited number of refresh rates in the BF1942 video menu, while with HDMI, I can access the resolution I want now. Odd.
...
You used the Original DP Monitor cable?
But, ... if it's working in other games via DP with that same DP Cable, then it can't be the cable.
What monitor is it btw?

Up to windows 10 you should install the driver.

Btw. I personally would install it even on Win 11.
...
Btw. Try once inGame, (if the Resolution on DP does not work as it should), to disconnect the DP Cable, then put it back on, go to the InGameMenu and see if the other resolutions popped up.
