Anyone Here Looking to Play Desert Combat?

Hey all!

Just an honest question here from someone who has helped keep the Desert Combat mod alive for quite some time...

Do people actually enjoy the mod?

Are there people who would play the mod, but just don't think there are servers?

Is there anyone here who would want to play Desert Combat, or versions of it?

Desert Combat seems to be dying, with the loss of Maxnet a year back, the loss of ea117 to almost nothing, and the recent crashing and IP change of -[HELLO]- Desert Combat... have all but dwindled the numbers of PvP Desert Combat playing to all but nothing. About three months ago 43 players were on a single server for Desert Combat, but now a good day is somewhere in the 10-15 range, much less than what the DC community has enjoyed in the recent past. I want to get those numbers back up to where they belong and once were. I haven't given up faith, and I am trying to reach out to anyone that wants to support this mod and continue the great legacy it holds.

Hi Bang,

DC is an excellent mod, some of its maps are masterpieces for infantry matches.

Sad to see its player numbers dwindle to such a low number.

The way to go now is to organize events, that’s pretty much the only way to fill up a server. I also encourage you to knock on doors, go ask in other big BF1942 communities if they want to join your events. You can even try doing crossover events between games like BF2 and BF1942.

Also I’ve made a bunch of small scale infantry only maps, and it would be nice to see if some players are interested in little competitive events (2v2, 3v3) on some of the maps, is that something you’re interested in?

Have a custom maps event this Saturday Mamba, trying our best.

Also, Summer sees a decrease, as people can go out and about... rather than being cooped up inside all day.

So it'll pick up as the Summer nears an end.

Just spreading the word and doing what I can till then

Did you try to reach out to bf1942.pro? It seems they are looking for DC events to join and stuff.

We helped them set up their server, just for some of their guys to advertise against us. Not a good look.

They learned it isn't as easy to grow a server, as they have had a total of 0 players in the last 2 months, however they weren't maybe the best about showing gratitude when they were helped...
