I need help

Hello,

I'm sorry for the inconvenience to anyone who can help. I just bought the CD version of BF42 from Amazon and I have been informed that there are patches and a correct order in which to download them to start playing on the server. I know it's a big ask, but can anyone list in order what I need to do with the patches (need the place where to download them) and the order I need to do everything in?

Hi Pristan, you would need this patch to update server list https://www.moddb.com/games/battlefield … 2org-patch and with this one you should be able to connect to the servers. Please let us know if it works or if you need anything else.

Have you tried to download and run a game just to check if it works?
You can dl the game here on forum

Installing old games from original Discs is anyway not a good idea, (installing Copy Protection Drivers are blocked since years on Windows), nor installing into ProgramFiles.

You said "Nothing worked".

What is not working?

Don't install via CDs, my game was lagging as hell.

Hello Pristan,
this is the way i was told to make the game running on Win10 and play it online:

1. installing Bf42 v1.0 from an old disc.
2. game is being patched: battlefield_1942_patch_v1.6.19
3. Punkbuster42
4. battlefield_1942_gamespy_patch_v1.61
5. overwriting the 6 files from bf1942-v1.61-retail-patched
6. finally BF1942_-_master.bf1942.org_-_Patch.2

Step 2 is most likely not necessary as your CD contains already version 1.6.
Step 3 and 4 probably are useless, don't know for sure.
Step 5 is to make the game running on Win10, as far as i know. You can find this patch here:
https://team-simple.org/download/
Pick the "retail" (=CD) version of the patch.
Step 6 is necessary, as Paul Baumer wrote, for your game to find the online servers.
