Checking in on our Turkish players

How are all you Turkish people doing (and everyone in the affected region)?

The videos i see on Twitter coming out of Turkey & Syria from the earthquake is absolutely devastating sad I've seen (non-EQ) devastation in the past and it just tears your heart out).

Many prayers to all of those impacted! (I wish we had more info!)

My boyfriend is not only an electrician but also was/is (reserves) a combat engineer & currently a volunteer firefighter/rescue and a member of the USAR (Urban Search & Rescue) Task Force, which were called early this morning and was put on stand-by to help. Part of me hopes he doesn't go but part of me wants him to go because I know how good they are.

I pray all of our Turkish players are safe and their lovedones are out of harms way!

Re: Checking in on our Turkish players

Hi Sunshine,
Thank you very much for your kindness and mindful thoughts, i really appreciate that. Thank you so much for being sensitive towards the situation.

The area in Turkey that is extremely damaged is shown on the map, and at the southern part there you see Syria and the boarder. I can only talk about Turkey due to the fact that i am more knowledgeable of but Syria is also affected a lot by the quake, reporting the biggest natural disaster of Syria history.
harita1.png

It's a big disaster, the whole country is mentally down because of the news. The first quake occured around 4 a.m with a quake power of 7.7M  while people were sleeping. in 10 big cities located in the south&south east part of Turkey. After the first wave, about 160 afterschocks occured between 3M-6M(power)  and some of them were as big as 7.6 and 6.8 again (while people were trapped under the collapsed buildings during the mid day...). Everyone that are not able to go to the devastated area  tries to report the 'help requests' through social media (which are very heartbraking videos) to the public authorities and other public organizations for rescuing activities. The society has been mobilized to help their neighbors the whole day, and they are still doing so. We are still exposed to enormous numbers of videos that requesting help, from the people who have been helpless for lots of hours. There are also enormous numbers of people who are already sorted in airports in order to move to the area as volunteers.
Another bad thing is that the weather is very cold there, it snows and there are lots of people still waiting to be rescued. I wish my people strength and power to overcome this situation. I also appreciate from my heart all the effort that people of my country puts for the rescuing activities as volunteers. A lot of countries have been sending  aids, rescuers, firefighters, special teams like your boyfriend is part of , whoever can make an impact to do something good. I am truly grateful for that. I wish that we will overcome the situation as soon as possible...

As for the Turkish players;
I have talked to Beyazz, Magnus and Cranberry today. We are all fine with our families and loved ones. We live in the western part of Turkey which is far from the devastated area...
As far as i know Vietnamese, Turkish king and TURK also live in the west side (in Istanbul and İzmir). I think they are fine as well. I do not know if there are more Turkish players from the server.

Stay strong Turkey!

This guy has been all alone there for hours waiting for help, trying to dig the huge rubbles by his bare hands, alone himself, desparate to do anything but asking for a hand. I wish with all my heart to have his parents rescued...

We should sanction the US for all the attacks in the middle east.

USA was and still is willing to help, and said this 2 days ago, but they need easy access to those areas which is not guaranteed by the Syria Gouverment. (Idlib).

Btw. Same from the Turkish side at the border to Syria.

Plenty of Transporters from Swiss are blocked also, because the have no access to those areas.

The queue goes back until Switzerland. Many say here, the materials are still in Swiss, because the border to Syria is closed.

...

One Reason is the destroyed Harbor Iskenderun and Street from and to there.

I'm not a politician. I know they're sending aid via NGOs though.

Re: Checking in on our Turkish players

Thank you very much to all of you here sending condolences and good wishes, we appreciate that truly!

@Arkos, the İskenderun Harbor has been burning until today because of the chemicals and fuels. The Turkish boarder is open to Syria for transportation of the aids. The problem is that near Hatay, the area and roads are very devastated because of that people from Hatay are the most damaged ones and there are hundreds/thousands of people are still waiting under the collapsed buildings (neitther death or alive...) Lots of villages still suffer a lot in a way you can not even imagine. I do not even post more videos or pictures..

@dary, if there is a person who would need to talk about politics towards this situation and against our government is me and the other turkish guys. If you want to bring the thing ''turkey bombs syria boarder'' do not do this here while there are victims in this situation who has been suffering. Instead, just keep watching your ''Turkish loved'' german TVs news please. You will be pleased a lot.  Keep your one-sided, fool-believed news accordingly. I am against my country's government and i do not even have to share my opinion towards my vote in Turkey(which is obvious as i stated) but i am not judging the stuff by looking at the TV only from a single point as some people who are misguided fools by doing this so ending up voting for Erdogan, manipulated. What i see from your your post is that you contain the same characteristics with the people who are manipulated by a few things (belifes, religion, history, TV, social media, less intensiive to read from other sources, being biased, etc).  Seems like you share the same characteristics with the people who votes for Erdogan in Turkey, thanks.

Re: Checking in on our Turkish players

I have thankful videos here that has been happening in Turkey, the ones that i could have seen and reached out through social media sources (which at least gives me and my people hope for the people to be rescued) :

- Vigili de Fuoco (Italy) https://twitter.com/ItalyinTurkey/statu … 1098964995
- Armada Espangol (Spain) https://twitter.com/EmbEspTurquia/statu … 2723977217

- Thanks a lot to Poland as well, really! https://twitter.com/new_observation/sta … 8688203776
- Can Azerbaijan! https://twitter.com/EbruAkar45/status/1 … 7945356319
- Thank you Poland! https://twitter.com/ABartkowiak_PSP/sta … 1311558658
- Danke Schön Daniel! Thank you Germany! https://twitter.com/diaspora_turk/statu … 0948055041
-Hungarian Rescue Squad! https://twitter.com/OrtaAsyaDunyasi/sta … vnRIQ&s=08
- Greek Rescue Team https://twitter.com/animaIarmy/status/1 … 8083148800
- Bonus --> This morning, in Greek TV the program was started with a Turkish song and the title is ''I have notified the world that i love you''.  I think as most of the songs in common languages in between Greece and Turkey, there should be something similar song in Greek too, lovely people. https://twitter.com/pusholder/status/16 … 3158992897

PS: These are the ones i have found out on social media platforms so far. I applied to be a volunteer in order to be a translator between Italian rescuers to Turkish people in the devistated area. I am waiting for the answer now.

Thank you so much to all <3

Re: Checking in on our Turkish players

No other words, a part from support to our Turkish players and to everyone affected by terrible earthquakes in Turkey and Syria are needed. This forum is not the right place to discuss politics or certain issues(our community is dedicated to an old game), and right now its the most possibly wrong time to do it. PLEASE obstain from such topics and do the least you can to support people or help. We need to heal, not harm each other.
To everyone in Turkey and Syria, stay strong. Our prayers go to you.

Re: Checking in on our Turkish players

My post was not intendet to attack any turkish people, I talked about the government. Anyway, sorry for my insensitive words in these hard times. I don't take your reaction personally, I rather see from your reaction how much you are suffering. I think now is not the time to waste our energy on some posts, let's focus on what really matters and that is to support. Stay strong down there, I will try to help too somehow. It's great to see all the support from other countries too, also from Greece.
Cheers
