Not many players like Kursk, to me it looks like the developers didn't put much effort into that map.
Surely Kursk is great for clan matches, but played on public it is just plain boring.
In addition El Alamein is such a great map which has been played long enough as amusement park, imho.
Why not simply swap Kursk and El Alamein?

El Alamein CTF often turns into a baseraping party, I can't imagine Kursk CTF.
Some guys will find amusing to spawnkill with expacks the house where most of the team respawns.
Both maps should be removed from the rotation. They are an abomination to BF1942 maps in every aspect.
the house
Personally, I like Kursk. And the most disliked card is Aberdeen.

On Axis side there is only one spawn, the house.

El Al: switch to CQ, add a [slight] turbo to jeeps instead of that flying nonsense.
Kursk: remove airplanes regardless of game mode.
Btw - Kursk has four spawns in the house, and one spawn in the barn for Axis,
and three spawns in the house, and one spawn in the barn for Allies on CQ.
For CTF, there is one additional spawn in the house for Allies.
Very easy to fix that mess.
I too dislike the map, because it's almost impossible to play logically and tactically, a meatgrinder so to say.
A lot of modding should be made to the server's rotation's maps to make them more balanced and inviting to play and not being assraped as soon as you step outside

I love Kursk!
...
Ya, Kursk is fun to play if the people play somehow together.
Playing it without planes would be nice, yes.
...
That's funny cause el alamein and kursk are one the most heavily modded maps. Anyone here know by heart how many tanks are on original kursk? What do you think happens when theres more vehicles than players?
Butchered maps by drooling modders who always sucked in this game.
Who here remembers what kursk was like on NBN Classic server?
SiMPLE has a few more steps to go to reach moongamers level though, free cam and bots and 1 sec spawns - guaranteed nobody will even try to play seriously anymore

Sure, yeah whatever. At least MG doesn’t have 50 power hungry admins waiting to ban someone for the smallest offence like an accidental TK.

Uf well said!
Simple have some of the same issues as Moon though; the game and several maps feel like playing arcade games. The conquest and teamwork aspect is totally gone. Try a round of Battleaxe and count the snipers. The game can allmost feel like a chatroom and arcade game instead of an online multiplayer fps game.

**a decade of evading to play a few mins on simple**
.
I think all Eastern Front maps should be removed from SIMPLE because they make players depressive.
My favorite maps are always sunny Japan maps…
maps and players are not the problem, shitty mods and settings are

Just remove El Al CTF, replace it with El Al Conquest without Planes, (for a Trial, (or max 3 Planes)), and 50% of the problems are solved.
Disable Chutes in Coral Sea and BOB and another 25% are solved.
...
Btw. I like Kursk. Funny Map. For Teamwork it's not to hard to understand "how" for most of the players.

Yes, kill it even more, add more mods.
Classic, clean bf42, the way it was meant to be played is the best way to go...
...
Blabla, .. sure
Or do you know some serious person who want back unlimited Grenades in some maps.
Imaging the guys who spam 42 minutes grenades from Stalingrads Ammo-Boxes.

Its' been said a gazillion times... bad spawns and too many vehicles. Too many mods from a pilot/vehicle fanatics perspective.
Take in to account that server population has dropped and the negative effects of these mods are more prevalent than ever before.
Take Battleaxe for example:
10+ vehicles on each side? which can hold 10+ players on each side.
Then you've got another 5-10 players on each side waiting for one of the active vehicles, because they know there is a ton of vehicles and something is bound to re-spawn sooner or later. Then the rest are snipers.
That's around 40+ players, which is around the servers average population atm. The map stagnates, players don't go for flags. The ratio of fighting infantry to vehicles is unbalanced.
Barring maps like Aberdeen, Coral Sea and BoB, most maps were designed where teams consisted of 15% or 20% vehicles, which were considered special and coveted.
Furthermore, as already stated, the random deathmatch spawn times affect the flow of the game. Players should all spawn together and attack in waves. This is the worst mod of them all, it changes everything... attacking/capping flags, defence, base-lock, come backs etc. If you want to fight against mass spawn killing, then MAYBE strategically change the location of specific spawn points.
Some small mods are necessary, but changing the fundamentals is a no no. It's become a Frankenstein server.
This isn't an attack on modders. Your intentions were good. You efforts are appreciated. Maybe some of these mods worked well once upon a time, but maybe it's time now to adapt?
Seems to be an endless supply of theories on the player count here now,
as mentioned in a few threads recently. Some blame the mods, some blame
server settings, while some blame both.
Creating "spawn waves" may not yield your desired results on it's own.
Players may continue do their own thing, like waiting for vehicles or
just chatting. More likely, you'd need verbal coordination as well.
Seems unlikely to me, given the games age and player mentality.
Some mention Kursk, which in it's stock form provided three tanks per side.
DICE thought that was a good idea yet the players did not. So here we are
with added vehicles and similar situations across other maps..
Edit: where's tuia, I have an idea for El Al..

if u dont like it, play on another server
Take a real situation like on Tobruk. You take a tank and attack an enemy flag and kill 3 infantry players plus one tank. Chances are they are all going to spawn there with bazookas or as engis. The average spawn time is around 6 seconds and they will be not be spawning together, but with the same intervals as you killed them. You can't possibly keep track of that and one of them is going to end up mining you while you're busy with the others.
Every other map where one team needs to attack has this problem (Omaha, Wake, Tobruk, Iwo, Bulge). The current spawn system is only good for defense, you can spawn endlessly really fast until you destroy the attacking enemy.
But a pilot and a ship captain wouldn't know anything about taking flags and attacking. Who has to take a flag on Omaha? It is going to be an inf player. You'd have to kill about 10 players alone to just get to the flag and then also deal with them spawning at least once more. I know maybe 4 players left in this game who can do that.. and I've never even seen seVen try.
When all the attacking players give up eventually, you'll have a sniper war or a ship camping party and the flags lose their meaning to everyone. No goal, no game.
SeVen, your playable map pool is like 3 maps - birtain, midway and guadalcanal and all you do is sit in a ship or deathbail somewhere. How would you know anything about playing tank/inf maps and attacking? I'd like to see you try

Two issues were addressed: a reason for more vehicles, and a reason why spawn-waves alone won't work.
It was not intended to butthurt anyone enough to make personal attacks torwards me. Cheers.
the purpose of extra tanks and vehicles and overally mods are :
1) more players have chance of getting Vehicles instead of a few top low ID ones, so we have less drama in chat about stealing tanks and so chat doesnt like a kindergarden about whos tank is it
2) more diversity about players with different skills per map, so most of maps do not get about inf and nade spam only
3) with more vehicle you can overcome some hard aspects of map as a normal/lower exprienced players, you can also kill campers or those that are hard to kill
4) maps are 42mins of long, without vehicle even walking to those flags will be boring, also trying to get have a competetive match is also important, the unbalance of an inf based map is always harder to overcome comparing to when you have a vehicle
yet some maps can have less vehicles, like 2 less planes for gazala, or 2 artillery less in Aberdeen and, 1 less tank for each side of bulge and tobruk and...
