How to connect to simple server?
Hi guys,
how do you actually connect from game to server? On my old PC I made a shortcut on desktop which immediately connected my to the server. On my new PC I haven´t done this so far. I always use Gametracker for connecting.
Bute this evening Gametracker is offline or has problems.
If I try to connect out of the game or search servers, the game freezes/crashes.
I did only the updated whick came with the game a a lot of years ago. Should I use a newer update? Which one is the right one? I have a CD-version from EA.

Hi Zander,
I used [JiF]'s link for a long time. I replaced Y'all's #'s with the SiMPLE USA's.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer 162.217.248.97:14567

I created a little software and website to launch the game.
Use this website to get real time information about servers: http://tankcup.herokuapp.com/servers/ (It may take a few seconds to get the initial connection because it "sleeps" after 30 minutes of no activity)
In order for the "join" buttons on this site to work you need to install a small software that I wrote. The software works very similar to how "mailto:[email protected]" launches your preferred mail client. If you want to read more about how this work you can read my post on bf-league.eu (http://bf-league.eu/index.php?option=co … 0&catid=12) or read the readme file included in the .zip file.

So far my software works for everyone who has tried using it, but if you run into any problems please let me know. It is also very easy to uninstall it through add/remove programs if you don't like it.

Oh wow neat, i cant check it out as im not at 'home' for a while and i dont (want to) have a windows system with me. I sure will check out your exe and the website as soon as im home and have access to my windows 7 gaming rig again. Thanks for the share/contribution NaNi!
Update:
The page loads just fine and looks nice and clear!! I like it! And indeed i had a load delay of about 10 seconds, thats fine with me.
But i didnt check if it works with linux + wine. I gotto sleep now...

Just replace Bf1942.exe with the right one from here. > http://team-simple.org/download/
If you have Retail Version it needs this one. > http://team-simple.org/download/bf1942- … atched.zip
After that the InGameBrowser and UpdateFunction works.

I have tried to make a dedicated server and have tried every combination of server and client patch and still get "Data differs from server".
The versions shown for client and server are identical. I am using the Origin client and Windows server.
Both are new installs, no other maps added.
