You know, in Swiss, since 10th October the tests are not anymore free for people without Symptomes, but this 3G Order counts here only in closed rooms. (Inside Cinema or Restaurant or Club, etc.)

Except Geneva, there they have some other rules.

Oh yeah same as here in Ireland. They were supposed to do that because suposidely 95 percent are vaccinated (I don't or not in my country at least) but now that there is more people on hospital than before the vaccine (400 of hospital now 40 in July ) they're saying they won't stop the pass.... Even though clearly the vaccine is not doing its work. They even came out saying that vaccinated people were more likely to transmit the virus because they're not careful about following mask etc guidelines

I never heard from even 1 death from extended circle of acquaintances.

But, ... one died because he went to the pedicure. She cut him in his toe, she said, he should go to a doctor, he didn't, then lost the toe, then the foot, then the leg, then he died.

Another died in a motorcycle accident and when they saw in the Autopsy that he had Corona, they asked the family if they agree to report him as Corona Death (He was between 50 and 60 and had no Symptomes).

Another died of a Brain Tumor and there are some other who died between this 1 1/2 year, (90+), but... not even one i heard who died of Corona. (In the very, very, very extended circle of acquaintances).

The hardest case i know, it's a friend, ... he was 2 weeks sick, lost 10+ Kg, was at home, is getting better now and he was not in a hispital.

One of my Brothers wife had corona, 37° fiever, a scratchy throat, my Bro and the six children had to go into quarantine, none of them was positiv after.

They communicated that last year officially.

It's interesting how many articles are ignoring the fact that he also had multiple myeloma and had nil immune system. He was undergoing treatment (chemo and radiation) that greatly reduces vaccine effectivenes, which was already reduced due to the myeloma. Being 84yo and immunosuppressed due to a blood cancer is going to make that person at risk for everything. He would've most likely survived if he wasn't battling it. As of last week, out of 187 million vaccinated people, there have been 24,717 non-fatal hospitalizations. 7,178 vaccinated people have died (85% were 65+).

Our university hospital here has consistently seen around 8-10% of COVID patients who are vaccinated. As of a few days ago, there wass 25 total and 2 were vaccinated.. both elderly immunocompromised people. Same when the hospital had over 200 COVID patients during the summer.. 8-10% were vaccinated and nearly all were elderly and severely immunocompromised.

Healthy people who are not part of an at-risk group and decide to make the personal choice not to get vaccinated have not "lost their minds." I would say the people who smoke or eat like shit are more in the "lost their minds" category by rejecting the science regarding smoking and obesity.

The immunosuppressed people should most definitely get the vaccine. But he had everything going against him. 84, overweight, multiple myeloma with his cancer treatments... a cold or a simple infection could've killed him unfortunately. He ticks everyone of those boxes of those who need it.

I'm curious whether or not he received a booster. He was diagnosed with the multiple myeloma in 2019 so I'm assuming he received his 1st dose very early on due to his age and health.

I think the point I was making in regards to "believing in science" was lost on you.

A study came out recently in Ireland showing that most transmission happened due to vaccinated people because they were not taking precautions as much as unvaccinated (I'm not vaccinated for moral reasons because I don't agree with animal testing or giving money tocriminals who created an opiod epidemic which killed a few in my family) but I still agree that COVID is a serious treath for a lot of unhealthy people, so I'm still careful around them. The reason being because like you most people think that vaccines prevent transmission, it does not it's there to greatly reduce symptoms.
I'm not upset, on the contrary it's always great to read different people's perspectives. I didn't call you an oxymore I said in this particular situation it was an oxymore (believing in science).

Sunshine, totally agreed with you in regards to unhealthy eating, smoking etc...
So much could have been done with regards to these issues at the start of the pandemic, whilst reducing COVID deaths.

I usualy often get sick like flu, like 2-3 times a year, laungs are my weekness. But last time i had problems with was jan 2020. Was very heavy one. And thats it for now. All the flu pill are expired (Cross my fingers)
