SiMPLE | BF1942 [FRA] scheduled downtime
On Wednesday morning, tomorrow, at 09:00 CET our server will be going down for an OS upgrade and other maintenance tasks that is expected to take roughly 1 hour to complete. As a result it will be offline until this maintenance is completed.

Nice tuia, hopefully major lag issues are resolved. Yesterday at Aberdeen alot were complaining about it. It was like moving in slow motion

Lecter, I am certain the lag you experience is on your side, and it is due to frame drops, any frames per second (fps) rate below 30 is unplayable, just as you say it, it is like moving in slow motion.
As for the server it will be reformatted and updated.

Ok tuia. Do you know what I can do? Or can it be my net provider that simply sucks? Even if its a fast connection.

No, it's not your internet connection. I'm almost sure is something related with your video settings. Use Fraps or Bandicam and you'll see if your frames go down to around 20 or 10 in a crowded Aberdeen map, that's when you'll notice that choppy play. If they do, you'll have to lower the video settings or try some more advanced tweaks. It's all listed in How to improve gameplay topic.

This is so crazy, the server goes online again and within few seconds 10 players connecting.

Nowadays people are used to these crashes and are more relaxed when they occur.
If a server crashed some years ago, no matter if it was popular or not, than all people were immediately gone to another server
Now they have more patience since there are not many good servers left.

It took longer than expected, but there is no problem with the upgrade. The BF1942 server is now logging all game events so they can be used for statistics, in the future.
