Nations Cup 2021

Hello All,

Me, Heineken and Mitch have been discussing about making another Nations Cup this summer, right after the current league session. Starting in July and possibly ending in August. The one we did back in 2010 was extremely fun and brought good memories to the community. I would like to know the amount of people that might be interested to take part in it. We would need to make a poll for team structuring like before. Players can join to their nations team and vote for the leader etc.

The teams in my mind are such as;
1- TeamNA (North America)
2-TeamTUR (Turkey)
3- Netherlands
3- Germany (possibly 2 German teams due to the amount of German players)
4- Russia/Ukraine (or 2 separated teams if possible)
5- Denmark (Doubti already has his gang, which is perfect)
6- Poland
7- TeamYUGO (Croatians,Serbians and all other countries in old Yugoslavia)
8- TeamNorth (Finland+Sweden+Norway, if possible more teams can be formed from here)
9- A mixed team from Rest of the world (if needed)

We can form 2 groups in which the teams are maybe randomly allocated, 4 teams in each group, top 2 teams go through to the semi-finals from each group.
Then we have semi-final games,the 3rd place game, and the final game.
Each of your feedback is very important to make this tournament real. I would like to see in advance that how many players we might have and also the amount of the possible teams. You can contact to the people from your own nation to let them know since not everyone follows the forums or discord.

starting date of the cup could be postponed after the summer not to take the risk for holidays etc.

Hi Guys,

I want to specify that for the players who are not able to form their national teams because of less players, it is possible to mix 2 teams into 1. For instance there are a few French and spanish players, so that FRA+SPA option is available if the players wish so. Or team North (SWE+NOW+FIN).

Or a player can also participate in another national team, the main objective here is to form teams with respective national players but also to allow other players to play in the tournament.

I share below the Discord servers of the nation teams. The maximum team size is limited with 14 players, if the amount of players exceed 14 (ex. Germany) then another team will be formed. Please sign in to the nation's discord channel that you want to play with so that we can track the amount of players easily and create the team respectively in the website.

BF League's score system kind of annoys me. I saw a lot of draws for the first week's matches, despite large ticket differences between teams. It would have been cool to use an alternative score system, such as the one I used in my Mini League, to determine winners. Let the team with more tickets win.

Mamba: If it's all about the tickets then there will probably be a change in maps - less variety and such. Certain maps favor large ticket wins much more than others. In very old days some teams kindda abused this system by specializing in pixel shooting and raping on certain maps (Omaha, Coral, Berlin, etc.)
I tried to implement fixed maps pr. round last season, to get writ of the current map picking system, then we would maybe see more "riscy maps" being played, more variety (and 100% training in pcw's). However the most important is of course that the teams and players play the maps they enjoy the most to play.

i liked pixeling in battleaxe, there were 0 dogfights, planes didnt had a change to get up, got shot down by spawning tiger / wespe and even the brownings / MG's from mainbase could hit the standing planes.

Some also used  bazookas to do it.
I just prefer to play wars and maps where it's head to head skills and teamwork that wins you the fight, and not some lucky sneaker, afk. pixelshooter, unlucky plane crash or what so ever that make all the difference. Like you really do wonder how those players who sit afk in Sexton for 45mins on Caen pixeling to the axis south flag can enjoy that. But ye room for everyone :-)
