Most of them are new to me at least... Operation Forager has been played often and this is quite a good map.
The other maps not.

Okay. I have been absent from bf-league for almost 10 years, but several of the custom maps are familiar to me from old seasons; Forager, Murmansk, Cherbourg, and I also heard that East Docks and Tatouine have been used before in bf-league -  this means that only 3 maps are completely new: El Wadi, Strasbourg and Desna River. And not to sound harsh towards you Dary (it's not meant that way at least) , but then such experienced, old and skilled team as yours only have to practice and get to know 3 maps, which shouldn't take that much time? On top of that every team still got 3 map bans available to use.

The majority of my teammates haven't played ANY of the custom maps ever before, but most of them seems excited and happy about trying out something new though it can be frustrating and confusing at times :-)

@Black Mamba: On what basis do you give your result predictions? I'm just a bit curious :-)

I'l give my prediction later on, but I think I lean very much towards Karlson and Zody's predictions. But I actually think a lot comes down to which team can keep a stable and motivated line-up - I mean this season is gonna run through spring and "summer" and Corona restrictions are probably also gonna get reduced during this time as well, opening up for more fun-time out in the real world. I'm at least curious and excited to see how it's gonna go with Asstralis since it was kindda build around the "dark winter corona lock down".

Well Mourits, this is the real world as well. big_smile
And yeah, the maps you mentioned have been played and are pretty simple to remember - Cherbourg, Murmansk... Tatouine was the El Alameinish map right? Don't worry, doesn't sound harsh at all. Sure you get to know those maps, but ingame when you have to decide very fast most it can really get confusing. lol
Maybe we should set up on weekend a public server to get to know these maps. Strasbourg, Desna River and El Wadi I have never played too... El Wadi seems funny, hope there will be some funny fights around the bunker with MG.

Re: New BF-League Season predictions

There are several versions of this maps out there.
I hope it'll be possible to download the modded maps here on simple-forum if they are done.
You can download most of them here to have first practice:

Re: New BF-League Season predictions

@Dary: Yes, that could be nice with some public fun on the custom maps! I actually asked if it was possible to add them to the "new maps server", but apparently it's very time consuming to make AI support for maps. Forager and East Docks is already running on the server.

@Karlson: Yeah El Wadi is pretty weird, but also kindda fun at the same time. I think the "steepness" of the canyon wall is quite annoying, and also feels like it's super unbalanced / favoring axis a lot. But this probably what we have to live with, when we lack map creaters + decide to have such little time-break between seasons -  there isn't enough time to test/play the maps and then balance mod them.

True, map creators should align with clans to receive feedback and so on. The communication is not the best.

El Wadi has paracuter as well close to the flag where the Spitfire spawns. I don't like maps where flags are too far apart. Sometimes people need to defend it the whole round. It's waste of time.

I might make another custom map around May or June, we'll see.

@Mamba: Why do you bother modding and creating so much if no one is using or playing ur creations?
- also on what basis do you give your bf-league result predictions? I'm curious

Because he likes it and he's good at it. Btw Mamba's Strasbourg map is going to be played in the Liga so you're not really correct there smile

As Paul said, it's going to be in the next league season, and it's been played many times even before that. Plus, all the mods I've made since now have been played in an event, competitive or not.

As for the predictions, idk, I kind of just used my intuition.

Re: New BF-League Season predictions

@Paul: Yes I know mamba made that cool map, but spending 200+ hours on a mod used for maybe 1 weekend is just a bit odd to me, but if it's fun to hell with it :-)

Idk. maybe I just feel like it would be cooler to adjust and fix some of the many many custom maps already made, but yeah idk. and don't care too much. I'm generally happy with the current memo maps this season.

@Mamba: Ok. I was just curious because I don't see you playing any public or in any clanwars.

Re: New BF-League Season predictions

Strasbourg is awesome! There is so little I would change about that map, which is rare for a custom map. Really excited to play it in a real ligawar. I think it's really nice that both sides aren't similar to each other but yet still not too far apart.

Re: New BF-League Season predictions

Thx Doubti. I wanted to bring a few changes to the map and make at least one alternative version of it, but I guess it will be for the next season.

Yeah I think I would change the spawnplace of the city-Panzer (maybe also Sherman) and maybe also spawntime of it, and maybe also look into peoples spawn place - not sure about that though. But again that's small things, Mamba

Re: New BF-League Season predictions

The spawn location of that Panzer should be to the right of the cathedral, close to where that Pak40 artillery gun is. Also the spawn time is too fast, I would double it. Same for the Hanomag that spawns in the advanced Axis main base spawn.

We fooled everyone in this thread, but already achieved our own goal.

Respect to UF and Ironman, I think they also made up quite a surprise this season.
