Black Screen issue

My game wont load. Clicking on the desktop shortcut, the screen just goes black. Also, I cant CTRL-ALT-DEL (task manager) to shut down the program. Solutions?

You have to activate "Direct Play"

Then go in the Bf1942 Folder

> right click on "Bf1942.exe" and after "blackscreen.exe" and do this:

> Settings > Compatibility > and set "Run as administrator" and "Compatibility Mode" > "XpSp2"

So you set both bf1942 AND blackscreen.exe as Xp sp2?

Only as Admin is for Blackscreen.exe ok.

But i have only Windows 7, not 10

...

I usually install old games not in Program Files, because it's highly restricted.

I use a folder "Games" in the Main Root of the Drives. (C:\Games\...)

Ah...

If the game has even with activated "DirectPlay" this BlackScreen Issue, it  could be the lack of the 800x600 Resolution for the Menu.

This happens often on newer Laptops.

You can surround this move, if you use a DirectConnect to the Server-Link, if you have set your ingame resolution in "Video.con" manually.

If you have a Dual Grafic Laptop add a game Profil for Bf1942  and let it run just on the on the Dedicated Grafic.
