potential CTF CUP

Hey all,
I had this thing on my mind for quite some time. i think its time to make a new or bring back some old-new competition.
Its been more than 2 months since CTF should have been played and Im a bit sad that no one took over with some ideas about bringing the Cup or competitions back.  I really appreciate all that BlackMamba has done for this CTF Cup and its really unfortunate that CTF did not go ahead in the end. I had a pleasure to at least try with some teams and get a practice and it was a lot of fun.
Last time we were missing one  ( sixth ) team that would ensure the start of the Cup.

All I would need is to get one or two players with experience and mood to make it happen. Im not saying a wouldnt be a good leader for this, but I cant do it all alone, at least for now, maybe in the future. I really liked the idea of doing it on new maps (battle of Sands, Strasbourg etc)

It would be interesting to see this cup go forward, however I have no desire to organize it all by myself. If someone is willing to step up and handle the organization (ie, tuia), the maps are already there. One reason I didn't go forward with this cup was the general lack of interest and negative comments I received, mostly about the fact that a CTF cup would mean players would spend their time spawn camping flag bases, but that's a problem which can be easily solved with some modding.

I'm not too sure we still have access to a server for this too, but I can ask tuia.

I would suggest having a team of maybe 2-3 people organize the whole thing rather than only one person.

Its not even to be mean, This game is old enough to be on pornsites now. If you still enjoy the game (whats left of it) whatever that's your thing but expecting people to want to participate in "cups" in 2020 is ridiculous the game was losing grip in 2009, over 10 years this game has been holding on by a thread. I haven't touched the game in
3 years and I'm willing to bet its the same players

If you're willing to put in the work, then making these events happen in 2020 is possible. I did it, and anyone here surely can too if they try hard enough. However I doubt a CTF cup can work.

Naah. I believe its time will come. Maybe not just now, maybe in the fall after hot summer days. I mean, it's just sad when Simple community includes around 200-250 players (who are active during the week or a month - i think im not far away) and you just cannot get damn 15-20 players who would like to play. Whats the point of being so stereotype and doing the same all the time once u stick to this old, but good game. I dont know if people are just too lazy to do something or whats the problem. Its really sad. 

Thank you Mamba im definitely willing to help you once the time comes. Im not sure if we are able to pull it off in the next weeks. I have received some DM's, but it really wasnt around 20 or 30 messages. I'll  type you in DM. . Glad to see you around.

I'm not too sure I want to get involved with hosting cups anymore mate. I think the most I could do would be to perhaps, and I say perhaps make a team and play in the cup, but I want nothing to do with the organization itself.

There are others that could help, like nameless for example.

The games a classic and thats it. In absolutely every other way its a disaster. You can get used to how the game works but its a waste of time, and effort. The regs will never be even for everyone, if you have 32 bullets in the magazine but if bf42 regs are considered how many do you really have if you don't know if your bullets will reg?the games a gamble and it deters any competing or any longevity of playing. I mean really if you have over 90 ping playing infantry is just a headache. You can do it but its just not fun I think that's what the main problem is, I get maybe to you guys getting clean regs on a straight running  player is fun but on that players screen he missed 20 bullets but the 10 bullets that did hit didn't even register. Hosting anything slightly competitive nobody will want to do because the games broken. Sry not Sry

Killer88, what I can say to you now regarding this CTF cup is that you should try to organize some small 3v3 or 4v4 matches first on the CTF cup maps I made. This needs to be done because not all the maps are balanced.

Before we even talk of a CTF cup, let's just play some fun wars on the maps. This will allow us to change certain things on the maps but also see what spawn times are optimal.
