bf 1942 server help

hi i'm a new member here ...
I would need some help with starting a server
What ports do I need to open in my router?

I have added ports and others can connect to my server but is dosent show in list.. and i have look in fierwall to
i use old computer with windows vista..

I hope someone can help me

Hello,

You need to open BF1942 server default ports 14567 and 23000 (UDP protocol) in your router. Port 14567 is necessary for players to connect to your server and port 23000 is for GameSpy queries (information about number of players, players name, ping, kills, deaths, etc.).

Then, to show up in the server list you need to download a patched server from http://team-simple.org/download/ page. After, you can check in http://master.bf1942.sk if your server shows up there.

Have you checked this site? http://master.bf1942.sk/

AX is running the bf42 masterserver, so if you are ip banned there its no go, just for info.

Also when i ran a server from home, i couldnt see it in masterlist from another computer because it was on the same internal subnet (but that was years ago, might be different now)

If not mistaken, enabling  NAT Reflection would cure that.  Prolly not an option for most home routers tho.

i have also open the port.. players can join my server by the ip .. not from list

I have them ports. that I need open, open.... when i start my server i see it in the list in http://master.bf1942.sk...
i also have look in firewall and all is good..

when I try the port i have added to my router 14567 and then go to port checker is say it klosed

If you see your server in the masterlist (master.bf1942.sk) then that part is ok. Its propably only you that cant see the server ingame list because you have the same ip as the server so it gets all knotted up. Im not sure how the port checker works, it might use some protocol thats not relevant for a game server.

If you post the servername i can check if i can see it in the ingame browser, and try to connect.

You have the same IP number as the server has (the "world" IP after your router), i donr know exctly why, i think its something with routing and adresstranslation. You have to ask on some data forum about that.
