they stopped with the updates and support for kali linux so i think this is a problem i just have to live with until i find another linux. i dont have much hope for help here. the game just freezes. i press alt tab and see a error window. press enter and then i have to start the game again. cant read the error message. some times the error comes all the time. like every minute. but normally once twice a day.
Did you have this problem before or just recently? I am not sure why but many programs seem to behave differently depending on the distribution I use. I guess it has to do with the libraries and their respective versions that are installed in the distributions. I couldn't start BF1942 using wine on Linux Mint, it gave me errors. I figured it would be too time consuming to find out what was causing the problems. Now I am using Q4OS (Debian based) and everything is working fine.
My only suggestions would be to either install and try a different distribution (unfortunately) or to try with PlayOnLinux by installing different versions of wine.
Which GPU and GPU-driver do you use? Also I noticed hight effects quality may cause crash for me.
You can disable annoying crash window (and instantly kill dead process) by this command
winetricks nocrashdialog
or create crashdialog.reg file with following text
and apply it through Wine regedit.
the problem has been for a long time. this laptop i bought in thailand 5-7 years ago. it was the cheapest laptop on the market. just after buying it i was on a fishingboat and there was a wave that threw my laptop like 2 meters and broke the screen. i replaced the screen myself and after that i have been treating my laptop as its going to brake any time. i cant find any info about my GPU. and i'm scared to do anything with my laptop now. if it works, don't fix it )
Make an little raft for it, place it on raft along with some firewood, light the firewood and push it out on the sea, sing a song to its praise like a real wiking funeral.
with a light linux on it i feel it still has many years ahead. i'm anti-capitalist anarchist and i don't support the consumption world we live in. i have a smartphone i was forced to buy by the fishing authorities so they can track me and monitor me (i have to send a message when i deliver crabs). i've had it for 4 and a half years. and the screen is not broken.
Jorgen..... just buy a new pc desktop or laptop, make sure it is on good condition, you can ask people here to buy one by parts, don´t worry we won´t think you are a capitalist, we just want you to watch that porn in full HD.

I actually agree with you, i have said it before, im not exactly a tree hugger or something, but i do dislike this overconsumption we live in, if nothing else it produces so much unneeded waste that polluting our world. Sadly somethings is hard to fight against, i had this laptop that i used when training, i had it mainly running youtube vids but all of a sudden it started to lagg, meaning they had changed something like overnight, so in one go it become useless for even that small task.
My mobil phone has inbuilt battery, very hard to change it, its two or three generations old, after the first software update it become a bit slow, after the second update it is kinda sluggish, its all because they want people to buy new stuff.
