72 player slots

Hello.

Is it possible to increase the number of slots from 60 to 72 for friday evening too?
Hard to join. Server is full. And this happens almost every friday...

What do you think should be SiMPLE | BF1942 [FRA] ideal number of player slots?

  1. Less than 60 player slots
  2. 60 player slots
  3. 64 player slots
  4. 72 player slots
  5. More than 72 player slots

simple fra has been full at 60 slots for extended periods in primetime, recently

is it maybe time to go all-out and just set 72 slots all the time ?

Ok, I'll reconsider the idea, but the players numbers fluctuate a bit every week. I've added a poll to the original post to get eveyone's opinion.

72 would be enough, it maybe cause random lag as are lots of ppl playing in 1 server.

On some maps, like Liberation of Caen and Aberdeen, 72 players can be too much and cause lag client side.

If an admin can set this in the weekend WHEN the server is full it is cool. BUT... not all the maps are suitable for this! Nice idea tho.... i vote 72+ for the full weekend moments.

Coral Sea is a blast and a welcome change from the norm.
It's all about bombing and attacking, I guess many players that quit simply can't fly for toffee.

I love Coral Sea.

I love Coral Sea, too. It's up to admins what they do with the server anyhow... But my point was to limit maximum players number in that map, just because a lot of players (particularly non-experienced) leave for the abovementioned reason. I can't see a reason to start flaming me for this idea, can you?

Problem with Coral Sea and BoB is that players simply don't get it.

Every player should spawn as engineer, repair then fly.

I've seen noobs spawning as sniper on these maps.

Bit confused about your post though Albo, set a limit for maps that have players leaving anyway?

Exactly. Maps like Berlin, Stalingrad and some others are just boring with many players. Limiting it means better gameplay.

The number of player slots is a server setting and unfortunately that cannot be altered per map basis.

I get that but those maps have a cult following. They are Marmite maps, infantry players love it, flyboys and tankers probably hate it.
Limiting it would restrict players joining who want to play that map.

More players on these maps make easy kills smile

In vanilla Coop yes, but with modified .exe an a few edited .rfa files it can reach the maximum number of slots to 256!

Important! There was one thing I forgot about. (Thanks to Swaffy for discovering that there was an issue involving the vanilla maps)

Most of the vanilla maps has this code line in the SingleplayerAxis/SingleplayerAllied.con files (Skirmish Mode uses these con files to setup the tickets and load the objectspawns/CPs)

CODE: SELECT ALL
game.maxNrofPlayers 18

You'll need to go through any maps that use this and rem it out. Otherwise you won't notice any change in bot count even after installing the modified meme files and editing the AiDefault.con file!
