Data Differs from Server error...

Hello Team,

Can anyone help me get Simple to work on my win7 PC? I always get this error and cannot partake in teh phun times with y'all...

Hello Sir   Seems that you have some housecleaning to do.  That error is the result
of having file(s) which do not match a content-checking server.

You may want to start looking in the bf1942\levels folder first.
Sort by date, and there shouldn't be any newer than Jan 2004.
Prob could be in upper folders tho, from an open mod perhaps?

I guess he has not 1.61 Version or has some modiefied maps.

Just remove the old Installation and install this one if it's anyway not working.

If it's just Version 1.5 or so, search patch 1.61 in Inet and then you need the Gamespy patch only from the guide beyond.

Well he is behind the IS82 mod so having a few modded maps is an understatement.   He has hundreds.

Options for content check server-side are  0 , 1 , 2  as I recall.  Could be that he hasn't landed on a server running the same options as Simple lately.

Good tech support up there.   Though I checked my own levels directory and I have at two custom maps past the 04 date given and can connect just fine to Simple servers.   Jus Sayin'

Then just make a second Installation somewhere else, (in another folder), with the Simple Edition, just to play on Servers like Simple.

Perhaps it works, could be it gives an Gameux.dll error or not. You will see.
