I was able to play Battlefield 1942 pretty well (except some occasional CTD when loading/changing maps which typical bug on running this game beyond Windows XP) on Windows 7 until recently. But suddenly, the game just takes longer to run to the point I have to kill the process in Task Manager, and when I tried to run the .exe again and check both Task Manager and Process Explorer I saw the memory usage of BF1942.exe was just 2.1 megabytes instead of just within 40+ megabytes with 0% of CPU usage. Meanwhile the rundll32.exe *32 takes CPU usage within 30 to almost 100% with 90+ megabytes of memory usage.
Other games are fine, even the debugger executable for Bf1942 (i.e. BF1942_r.exe) are immediately execute the program without any slowdown.
I have tried to rename the .exe and although it opens up, this will also problematic later on especially while playing online as it always wanted to find the "BF1942.exe" from the main Battlefield 1942 folder when changing maps.
Does anybody had encountering this issue?

You run it as admin and SP3 and Blackscreen.exe also as admin?
...
or > Could be a Task Sheduler from Microsoft expirience programm. as you see here. (Disable all those 3 tasks).
It's the same for Windows 7

Is Windows up to date?

Yes, I've already done all those three that you suggested.
However, none of them worked and the problem still occurs, and re-installing Bf1942 or even re-installing Windows are out of the question because I've already done that last year at the expense of losing all of my data on my Linux partition while encountering the same problem on Windows.

And you excluded Bf1942-folder from Antivirus/InternetSecurity.

Yes, and it also restore the GameUX everytime you disable it from command line.

Again, the entire Battlefield 1942 was excluded. It's just the BF1942.exe are the main problem.
And I was able to do debugging work as betatester for a mod while running the BF1942_r.exe without problems.
Luckily, I've already found out the solution for my problem:

CTTO
Just run the .bat file and it'll rename the gameux.dll from "windows\SysWOW64\" or "windows\System32\" folder (for those had 32-bit Windows 7 OS).
Now I am able to start BF1942.exe instantly!

Nice.
