Hi all,
It has been years since I have played BF1942, I was in love with this game and remember playing hours of El Alamein. I would love to play again with you all, and I am up to date with the origin lash and Gamespy shutdown.
However, is there absolutely ANY SAFE way to download my beloved BF1942. I have just purchased a new laptop, there is no disc capabilities so I cannot purchase the hard copy on eBay. I would love to be able to download the game safely (virus free), do all the necessary patches, and see you all on the battlefield.
If there is anyone that could help me accomplish this, I would be etternaly greatful. We could use TS, Skype or Ventrilo to communicate even.
Hope someone has an aswer for me as I have been scrounging the net for an answer, but nothing as of yet. Hopefully the answer isn't 'no'.
Thank you in advance.

If you can't see any servers after Installation, you need the newest GamespyPatch

Well that was simple.
Thanks! So do I need to download all 4? I only want to play the standard maps.

Could someone give me a better indication of how safe it is to download these ZIP files. Sorry for being wary.
Thanks

Hi all,
I downloaded the first link for the bf1942 download, then the gamespy patch link also, extracted the files installed the games. When I launch the game, the screen goes black, I can't utilise any other aplications, nor will task manager allow me to shut down the application. At this point I need to resort to sign out of the account and restart.
Any help?

Windows 10?

Right mouseclick on
> Bf1942.exe > Compatibility > Run as Admin + Windows XP SP3
> Blackscreen.exe > Compatibility > Run as Admin (+ if needed Windows 7)
...
And you need to make this. (Only Windows 8.1 and 10)
