some admins keep misusing maprights

short version :

admin kobra and a few others should stop skipping philly, iwo, omaha

long :

most clanners dont like philly, omaha, iwo. according to them, theyre just “bad maps”, unbalanced and asymetrical and make players flee from the server (this is untrue rubbish, theyre good and popular maps and usually fill up the server), so the clanner-admins go the selfish and egocentric way, and do everything they can to skip these maps as much as possible, by using the setnext admin command

it seems as if they think they own the server and the bf1942 game, because they are clanners and admins and have put a lot of time into admining the server, so this is the “reward”; being able to skip all the “bad maps” and being able to choose what the (in their minds stupid public casual) players get

well, there are a lot of good non-clanner admins in simple fra, who have spent more time admining and yet still are more humble, meager and non-arrogant, and never abuse admin rights

im guessing the head admins will is that all 21 maps should be played evenly (at least in primetime) and that no maps should consistently be skipped more than others. furthermore, iwo and omaha often end early due to no uncap mains, which makes them overall played even less - timewise

nameless used to skip philly a lot, but he has (probably reluctantly) stopped it for now

currently, especially admin kobra keeps skipping philly. whenever hes online and philly is next, theres a good chance it gets skipped

here are five examples from recent weeks. number of skipped phillies, omahas, iwos in this period is probably much higher. im not online all the time. these are just the ones that i saw :

more omaha / philly skipping today, probably by kobra again ...

next maps were (as seen in the video at 00:01) :

omaha

but as expected when kobra is online, they were skipped and stalingrad was set to next

and kobra even lied about it, saying maprotation changed. it didnt, an admin (probably him) set stalingrad next during iwo jima

00:04 - merlin : should ne playing wake (truth)
00:22 - kobra : new maprota (lie)

population at the end of iwo : 46 players.
at the end of stali : 16

more abuse / misuse of the setnext / runnext privilege, especially by kobra and nameless

it depends of the intention of giving some admins maprights of course. if the server owner thinks it is ok that some maps generally are less played in simple fra, due to a few admins skipping them deliberately and consistently, then everything is ok

i dont think it is ok, the skipped maps are some of the ones that already (without skipping) are least played

as mentioned earlier in this thread, clanners generally dont like philly, iwo, omaha, el al ctf, so thats why a few of the clanneradmins keep skipping them (selfishness / egotism)

i would consider telling kobra / nameless to stop it, or remove their maprights if technically possible

if not, then maybe (temporarily?) remove setnext / runnext for all admins

and kobra / nameless virtually never ask players ingame about these skippings and setnexts. when they rarely do, they deliberately twist and interpret the feedback to their own favor

these are just the one that i noticed this month. number of mapskippings are probably twice as high or more

I dont even remember the correct command anymore for setting a map as next manually, also a reason why i never do this - and for sure i havent done this @ that day, in the afternoon, when the server is usually crowded.. U have accused Arkos lately already without any justification, now its me huh?!
Lately, late night, i indeed skipped a map after there was a crappy mess of hardcore-teamstacking all the foockin time (ye something u like to do either on many damnd occasions), in that case the teams were continually unbalanced like hell with 12:4 players or so, before i skipped that map i have asked resp. told and warned many guys several times to keep the teams balanced, and i announced to them that i gotta skip the map if they dont listen n finally start to play fair - they refused to follow the rules so in the end i was forced to skip a map, i guess that was the very first time there that ive used the !runnext-command..
So what the hell gives u the right to involve me here huh, and to judge admins decisions in general that often when u have no clue about whats goin on now n then, and why the heck dont u just play anywhere else when u r that unsatisfied with most of the admins here as u obviously are?? Why dont u just keep on with doin ur super-pathetic bailing to death and apart from that stay out of stuff u hardly know anything about?!

Note to the audience: basically that guy is right sometimes with some of his complaints, but a lot of them is also nothing but an exaggerated childish hassle too often, even any lousy kick for any of his misbehavior like teamstackin or bailing to death became a drama-thread already in the past, both some admins regard as disruptive gaming meanwhile and have finally started to kick n ban for that, so ill do it as well in the future! I understand where BFsoldier is coming from. He does have a point, which admins to talk to (blame) i dont know though. I havent played that much on simple lately.

But BFsoldier please realize you are a different type of player. I would call u a "top player"... or a "pro player"... sometimes i even feel you are stat-padding. But i am not here to complain as your gameplay is, in that respect, legit and i myself miss the "non-casual gameplay" as well.

I guess my point is that i'd like to say "please realize you are not alone in this server... most players are just here for fun".

How this all affects to your map rotation complains... not sure. What really annoys me are the map votes... it covers the screen too much (blame dice, not simple admins). I understand some maps are less popular... but i cannot give any solution to this issue.... i just go with the flow.

admin vertigo abuses the setnext command too much, to play the maps that he prefers. he skips infantry maps and he rarely ask players

he behaves as if simple fra is his little playground, and as if his egoistic and biased mapskippings are fine and ok

he usually does it late night when he thinks nobody is watching him

it would be interesting to know how many times he has used setnext in 2019

its a shame that i have to make crap-posts like this, but a few of the simple admins like vertigo keep misbeaving

my assumption is based on guesses since i cant see the logs, and i could be wrong, but im quite sure that im right

With limited players during that timeframe, the server should be on maps which
will retain/attract players. Unfortunately, that "spraygun" map doesn't do it.

I've talked about it in a few threads on the admin forum, listing the maps which
are effective and nobody shared a negative comment to dispute my efforts.

It has been my experience, Vertigo works, puts in extra effort (UNDERSTATEMENT) and has the consideration of the BF community, AHEAD of his choices for his desires. This is not new, it is in his character. Which is the drive for his actions. (He paid me BIG BUCKS to say that!)
Honestly, I am 100% sure his actions are ALWAYS in the best interest of the server and community. And always HAVE been, regardless of the server his efforts are at.

That "character" is extremely visible here in the Forums, with insight to actions simply from the postings. Perhaps you may chew on some reading, then realize he is here with positive intent and actions. You might get a better feel, from all the posts and chat captures etc. of the true person behind the name. I am SO happy Vert is here on the front lines and I expect, those who play often will agree. And perhaps others will confirm their experiences and history too.

I am still learning admin habits and who they even are. I find there are very few idiot players and ZERO bad admins in the early evenings (EST) on the SW R+R server. ( I have NO experience with a SINGLE "bad Admmin" at all!!) I have seen your nickname (does not mean its you) a few times so my expectations are you can concur, for that server and those times, a clean and WELL supported server. There are a few Admins, often on at those times, and I am SOOOOO happy they are there. Straight up, HELPING me when I need it, (Advice and teachings) and their love of playing is evident.
