Does anyone have a 1942 exe that doesn't start Origin?

I'm trying to port Origin BF1942 to mac (just turned free recently), and I read that someone had made such an exe. Could you give me a link to download it? Origin doesn't work on mac at the moment.

Which is precisely why I'd like to use the modded exe? I heard the original one requires origin, so I can't port the game as is.

Argothman, can you link the BF1942 Mac executable, so I may take a look?

Re: Does anyone have a 1942 exe that doesn't start Origin?

There is no mac version on Origin, I'm going to port the windows version using WINE. I read in the thread you made an executable that didn't require origin, and I think it may prevent problems from occuring with the port.
Using WINE the windows game folder is put into the wine application, which allows the mac os to run the program. It doesn't emulate windows itself, meaning I can only port the game and not Origin. For this reason I think using a modified executable that doesn't require Origin would be necessary.

I thought you were trying to change a BF1942 v1.61 Mac executable to connect to BF1942 Origin servers. I am sorry but the file is only available to members, I have some legal concerns releasing it to public.

Re: Does anyone have a 1942 exe that doesn't start Origin?

This isn't a public project, I'm porting this for my own personal use. I have 1942 on Origin for windows, however I want to be able to play it on mac. I'd like to use the executable to play origin 1942 on origin servers, so it's a legitimate and necessary use. I won't be sharing the port or executable, so there are no legal or safety concerns. The exe makes it possible for me to use the program as intended. Also, there's no need for a public release, you could email me a download.

Argothman, to prove you are worthy of access to the file, you have to solve a problem.
How much is: 1+2+3+4+5+........+96+97+98+99+100=?
Don't cheat using a calculator, you must solve it on your own. Or do you prefer a joint's riddle? tongue

Re: Does anyone have a 1942 exe that doesn't start Origin?

100x101/2=5050
What's the next riddle?
I thought Battlefield was a FPS, not a RPG.
Besides, about the "legal concerns"... I don't know if you realize it, but if you only release a patch, and NOT the whole modified file, i.e. only the offsets and values (or a script/program that makes the modification), you can have absolutely NO legal concerns whatsoever. Everything else is up to the users' discretion. So I would greatly appreciate if you'd share it with me. Thanks in advance.

Re: Does anyone have a 1942 exe that doesn't start Origin?

He already gave the answer, but that's a simple problem to summate, since the difference between terms is the same you can average the terms and multiple by the number of terms.

Anyway, I'm working on my port, but I'm encountering a few hurdles along th way. I'll update you on the progress, but I'll probably need a modified executable to run it on mac.

Edit: if you'd like to discuss my project in detail, or if you have any concerns about giving me the executable, send me an email and we can talk more in depth about this. I tried to send you q private message or email, but I couldn't find either option on the forum.

Re: Does anyone have a 1942 exe that doesn't start Origin?

I have everything ready, could I get a copy of the modded executable? I can't port origin at the same time due to the way wineskin works, so not having origin will make the game bug when it tries to load.

Edit: yeah, I finished the port but the game itself gives me the error: "Activation.dll failed to load" any idea what that is? Probably an origin thing.

Edit2: is there a way I can talk to you directly through irc or something? I'd like to address this directly.

So you're probably busy right now with Christmas, ( I'm meeting family later today), but if you're not too busy in the next few days do you think we could discuss this?

Thanks

0 6 7 A | 3
1 1 3 7 | 0
C 4 3 0 | ?

nämeless, your riddle seems hard to beat. I've been bashing my head into it. smile I hope it's solvable and not some crazy problem, like a Sudoku i once tried, only after some days I decided to solve in a program and it was unsolvable. smile

Heh, I think this is one of those problems where you don't have to be logical. I've wasted some hours with it and the answer will be comical.
