Since today you people have free access to the beta of bf5 on pc or the two major consoles. The graphics looks nice from first impressions, but the atmosphere and the game mechanics is nothing like bf1942. If you put aside the controversy with the female characters , lack of historical accuracy (black people wearing katanas, japanese transvestites , no one in the official game trailer wears helmet, there are some in the beta ) and all the sjw bullshit we heard from the creators , it's a decent game and many people will have fun playing it. It obviously targets the fortnite players (including character customization and battle royale mode) at the expense of the hardcore bf fans who are expecting (something like bf1942 with better graphics). But just compare the numbers and you'll see why fortnite is currently played by some 140 million people, which is more than the number of last gen consoles microsoft and sony sold together. The majority of them are aged between 7 and 27, while the hardcore bf fans (certainly less than a million) are in their 30s or 40s. I'm sure most of you are expecting this game for a long time and you are happily willing to spend $80-100, no matter what. Some of you maybe disappointed, some may actually like it. But I'd to bring to your attention another game that's about to be released soon which is going to be free and it will look something like this :
From what I read and seen, I expect Battlefield 5 to be a major flop, because of all the crap and inconsistencies they are trying to push, like some you enumerated. But those at EA don't care that much, they have unlimited financial resources, as long as they keep pushing their 'political' agenda.
In my opinion, historical games, especially WW2 based games, have lots of interest. It is one of the most, if not the most, important event in history and you get to relive it, if the game is any good and does justice to WW2.
That Enlisted game video you posted, looks like Call of Duty, more of the same thing repeated again and again, with better graphics, and I would expect 15-20 years later, there were original and interesting game modes with newer game titles. But, it sure helps the game success being free to play.
They just need bf1942 with updated graphics. No extra game modes or anything. Just keep it the same but make it visually up to date.
And flamethrowers ^.^
We already have a high quality texture mod in the works.
I agree that the BFV beta is pretty fun in my opinion, I'm excited for some of the new maps that they teased in the latest BFV vid. Enlisted also looks really good, I want to try it as well
...
Just wanted to say the same, ... lookes like COD
...
Im currently playing and having a blast. Much better than BF1. You guys should try.

Not possible unless EA releases a source development kit, which pretty much has no chance of happening.
A simple solution in the meantime is to just play BF 1.6, as regs are much more consistant there.

I think you mean the source code of the game. That would be wonderful news, id Software did it with Quake, EA Games could follow their example.
That is a myth, that BF1942 v1.6 has more consistent regs than v 1.61, or even BF1942 v1.45 from SW Demo.

I loved and still love BF42, but are u seriously devoting lots of hours into a quality mod, which how many are gonna have fun of`? 20 people maybe? On a very good day. I hope it's something you do because you have lots of fun with it, I mean I just don't hope you will get disappointed.

I didn’t say I was making the mod, the forum user named « Shing » is making it. There is a post about the high quality texture mod he is making somewhere, look it up.
In this late era of BF1942 I don’t really care if 10 people, 5 people or only myself play the mod, sure I it would make me happy to even have a full 32 or 64 player server for Raised Fist but it won’t ever happen and I don’t really give a crap. I just enjoy making mods.

If you try shooting someone that runs perpendicular to you in v1.61 you will get very inconsistent reg hits but on v1.6 the hits are definetly much more consistent, same for SW Demo.
Can you or anyone else test and post a video of this, please? I can't believe this, sorry. The regs test has to be done in the same server and same client/server networks, of course. There could be a difference between BF1942 Linux server and BF1942 Windows server, but not between BF1942 v1.6 and v1.61, the differences are minimal.
You may download BF1942 Windows server files from here:

Playing it on the PS4 currently and have to say that it feels alright. Few bugs aswell but from the pace and strength of the weapons its kinda balanced.
Have seen a video of a guy playing on PC with his STG44 and it looks like a whole other game to me. Much faster and the guns seem pretty OP.

The vehicles are a bit neglected I would say. Too slow, sometimes weird to manouver and you can get stuck/slowed down on weird places. Also I can't really make out a damage model for the vehicles and often it feels like they are too easy to kill by zooks. Nontheless I made 30 kills without dying on a round on Rotterdam but mainly because my squad worked good together and protected the tank. Planes are awful though. Useless for ground combat and dogfights are just boring.
