Battlefield vietnam server problems

I downloaded Battlefield Vietnam. I tried to play online. I clicked the server and joined. It told me to update even though I already have version 1.21. Please help.

Some servers are version 1.20 and some 1.21.

You have to edit your HostFile to see the Servers in InGameBrowser or you just connect manually to the "right Version" Server.

Try once to connect to this server here > 194.67.209.58 : 15555 (1.21) or this one 158.69.118.94 15567.

Both are Coop Servers.

I cant seem to join it. It tells me it failed to connect and I don't really know how to edit the host file.

How to edit host file on windows? (i see you have the windows 10 icon below your account name here so i assume thats what u need to know)

1 Press the Windows key.
2 Type Notepad in the search field.
3 In the search results, right-click Notepad and select Run as administrator.
4 From Notepad, open the following file: c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts.
5 Make the necessary changes to the file e.g. for battlefield vietnam add:
  65.112.87.186  bfvietnam.available.gamespy.com
  65.112.87.186  bfvietnam.master.gamespy.com
  65.112.87.186  bfvietnam.ms0.gamespy.com
6 Click File > Save to save your changes.

I edited the host file and nothing has changed...

Nothing has changes as in you still cannot connect? With the host file edit you should be able to see this server list inside the game:

Do you see these?

Do you see the servers show up in the game? If yes then you edit the host file correctly...

Still it say "failed to connect" when you click the "join" button?

Yesterday i was talking to a friend of mine at =aX= server he told me in the weekends it is quite busy at Battlefield Vietnam... so be sure to check if you can join any server this weekend (if you have the time)... try several servers... maybe one or two need some mod or extra setting.. so just try join all of them. Report back here which you can or cannot join and the error you get so we can help you out more.

Yes at different times people are playing all the mods.  I'd like to see a DCFX server.

I also get an error that states “Wrong version! would you like to update?” I click yes and nothing happens.

I reinstalled the entire game. It worked for a second but it used other errors. Griffin Montreal SSM said I was banned. Others said data didn't match the server.

Hmm banned.. then u need another CD key!

Didnt match the server... then u on the wrong version!
