Moving to Paris

SiMPLE servers are going to be relocated to Paris tomorrow morning to a new and better (I hope) dedicated server. For the transition to be as smooth as possible, I ask you to update your servers and favorites lists, as soon as the relocation is made, and spread the word to the rest of the players about the change. You will be able to join the servers from the old IP address for some time, but it is not recommended, adds an extra latency to your connection, although small, and can get you kicked from the server any time. Another advice, you should use the hostname team-simple.fr or play.team-simple.fr to connect to the servers, as it will always point to the new IP address.

New server IP address 163.172.13.221 , the ports will remain the same (14567, 14568, 14569 and 14571).

More updates tomorrow.

Re: Moving to Paris

You are right, Whoopz. Paris has become, literally, a shithole. It is unbelievable.

Everyone questioning about the ping, you can test your ping to the new server, just open command prompt and type:

ping -c 15 163.172.13.221

I have a slightly lower ping to the new server and the route is about the same to the old server: Lisbon -> Madrid -> France.

Sorry for not finishing the move this morning as promised, had to compile the kernel, which takes some time. I will make the transition, first thing tomorrow morning.

Re: Moving to Paris

It's not ready, Hydra. Check tomorrow morning around 10:00 CET.

Sunshine, it is not that bad, just a small 5ms increase, you won't even notice the difference. Some may have it worse than you. You should move to Europe if you want a lower latency.

Yes, Whoopz, it is incredible how it changed drastically. Well, it is not that incredible, if you let all the scum roam free in the streets of Paris. I visited Paris many years ago and it has nothing to do with what it is. I also visited London at that time and got badly impressed. I can only imagine how it is now.
