Its getting slowly worse day by day.

About the diversion theory, i kinda fudged up what i meant there.

The theory is that if there is a big group of humans (africa) they have a lot of different thraits, long/short and everything else, then if a group breaks out and wander away (lets say 10% of the population) then they dont have the same amount of diversion, less really long or short people etc. Then if they in turn settle down and another group breaks out and wander away to settle new land, they will in turn have even less diversion in there genes.

Now, those that made up this theory, point to the native americans as the "endpoint" of this chain, as its fartest away from africa. (This all written from memory, dont take it for fact)

about knifes, noone can entirely ban all of them, there always must be something like "allowed sizes" to carry, but this isnt an answer of course. watched some vids from there, these guests just laugh at local especially youngers, no wonder they are hmm.. disliked.

I have changed some of my habits, like especially if im alone i avoid certain routes and dark places where there not is many people and such. Women i know says they go round an extra block sometimes instead of taking the risk of getting robbed or raped.

How can someone be proactive with their own safety? I can understand about some knives, the knucleiron things, and even stunguns. But ffs, pepper spray? I know pepper spray CAN be used in a bad way, like if someone wanted to mug someone or even carjack or whatever, but wtf.

What self-defense options do the police allow?

I guess you can use your bare hands if you want to. We are not supposed to have any sorts of "weapons" because the police is supposed to protect the people.

There was one guy that took something like a tire iron from his car, and used it on some other guy that was raping a woman or something the like. He got jail time for that.

edit: if i have pepperspray it goes under same weapon regulations as a gun, like a pistol. The sentence might be milder tho, im not sure.

Also thay are talking of outlawing Body Armor/Bulletproof Vests. I would atleast want something that could stop a knife cus there is many killings by knifes right now.

They are also messing around with licenced hunters about what weapons they can have (read new limiting laws), im not sure about the details but have a friend that hunts sometimes.

If you are somewhere the laws on self protection are strict and most forms of weapon are illegal, then I can suggest a high powered LED hand torch/flashlight with 3 modes. 1st mode hi-power.2nd mode low power. 3rd mode strobe. For about 50 Euros you can get into the good makes and brands. They have a crenelated strike bezel on the rim. On hi-power one of these LED torch/flashlights will hurt the eyes if pointed at them. On strobe mode the effect is remarkable. One cannot stand the dazzling effect of the strobe emitted to be able to look in the direction it comes from. Look into the strobe for the time it takes to blink and the next thing you know there's pulsating blotches of red/green/blue obscuring your vision as if you've stared at the sun. The strike bezel on the rim also makes a very effective jabbing tool for self defense should things get up close.
