Very good wines

My bro is a specialist in wine. If we drink some, he can explane "books", (would latina say) , about this wine.  Sometimes i wait only that he tells me which dude harvested it.

And i'm not overstating it. You can give him a glass wine, without letting him know what wine it is, and he can tell you nearly everything about it. 

In the past, when we had a good wine, i allways thought: "i have to write down the name and the year of this wine", but i never did.

Today we ate together and the wine was just ... wow...  and this is the moment to start this topic.

I doubt that you can buy it anywhere. Sold out.

If my neighbour has still the empty bottle, i will make a pic. I was visiting him 2 weeks ago or so and brought this last bottle "La macina" which was a gift from my brother. (It was the last bottle.)

Here in Italy I can get a cheap and good enough wine, from 2 euros and more.But I prefer beer

Ok... First the Swiss wine.

I had it before 5 weeks or so. Asked my Bro today and he told me, that this was a swiss wine. It was one of the best, if not "the" best white wine i, (personally), had in my life.

Also one from the best red wine i ever had. Also before 5 weeks.

Veran 2011 Finca Biniagual Binissalem , Mallorca (perhaps sold out) ~23-30 Sfr.

Could have been this one, yes, i think it was this one. Good with any kind of Meat.

I never buy wine. I just drink some when i got invited by one of my Bro's or on some celebration elsewhere.

You know, a good wine becomes better and better while you eat. When you drink a really good wine, you will notice after a while that you're only sipping on the glas but this is the way to enjoy it fully.

A night of work. A damned miserable half skip load of grapes.

Because of the frost, it's the worst harvest in France since 1945. The grapes are pretty good but far too few. Next time you have a glass of wine, toast all of these wine growers who will have to go bust.

Tonight we drunk a nice wine to a good meal.

Chateau Pontet-Canet Magnum 1996. (Bordeaux)

My Bro bought it, when it came out for 120-140 Sfr. Now it's around 1000+ Sfr. (at auctions.)

It's a good wine, but personaly, i prefere the Veran or la maquina.

If you like red Bordeaux, you should try some Saint Emilion grand cru or Pomerol, perhaps you did? What do you think of them?
If you like white sweet wines, a Sauternes (same region) or a Monbazillac.

You think someone sells a 22 year old "appellation pauillac controlee", for 72 Euros? 

Here is a list from those wines. Scroll through the years.  Can be it's not that expensive, but my Bro said, on christie's they sell them for around 1000+ from time to time.
