SiMPLE Tanks a lot

Hello guys,

we are currently discussing about adding "battle of the bulge" and "tobruk" to the mappool on this server (simple tanks a lot).
my opinion is that would be awesome und makes the server 100% more attractive as now.

Should the maps be added?

All right, but Tobruk and Battle of the Bulge maps have to be modded for fewer players. What would you change? Like, what should be the number of tanks per side, flag positions, or any other modding ideas.

Giving both side uncapturable bases or giving allies more tanks cause if axis take some certain flags the game would change into inf killing with tanks

Bulge and Tobruk with uncapturable allies base, all right. But, please, specify how many tanks each side, light and heavies.

I vote for a trial Gazala without planes. Must not be the whole day, but 1 evening in a week.

But not more tanks. Like this some players would also have the chance to go new ways, surround the enemy by foot, supporting the pushing tanks, repairing, zooking, etc.

Btw. I vote for Dukla Pass on Custom Map server with a sticked Topic for MapDownload in the Forum.

I would like to see Dukla Pass on Simple Fra, but this will never happen, i guess. Could you imagin those zookbattles?

Tuia makes Gazala without planes and perhaps also Bocage, but Bocage needs more vehicles, ... add 1-2 jeeps and another tank and perhaps on both maps a Spawnpoint in APC.  Why not, ...  and i will start a TestServer also with map Dukla Pass and perhaps 1-2 other maps.

A funny thing would also be Border War, perhaps also without planes and of course Karden Khaos without explosives.

Maybe change the map pool of  new maps server like adding most of memomaps into list some may have difficulties with joining but they will learn

It would be much better to have only two maps on Tanks a Lot server: Aberdeen and Tank Arena. Some people have no Arena installed and the better way to let them know where to download the map is to show the tips during Aberdeen.

How aboot just adding all tanks to Aberdeen and moving the flag to the middle of the city so tanks can take it easier.

It's a good idea. If i'm not wrong, i came up with this before 2 years or so.

I think it will only take 1 Maploading failure and next time, when they join Aberdeen, they will ask for the map or do it before in the Forum.

sounds good. but i think its not absolutely necessary to have much more tanks on this maps, its enough if you set the respawn time of the tanks to 2-3sec.

im a big fan of tank arena, but on public server ... i dont know. but ok, we can test it.
its important to have a short url to post it on chat/server ... (like team-simple.org/newmap.zip)

But Tank Arena is not playable as thought. People will use any weapons and it has not enough tanks for more then 5-6 peoples per side.

I have to say I think this is a bad idea. One of the main things that has kept me playing BF42 all these years has been that there has always been at least one server that stays Aberdeen all the time. If this goes away, I'm sure my playing time will go down precipitously. While I do like Bulge and Tobruk, I think there are enough other servers with those maps in the rotation to satisfy those who want to play those maps.

I also think that taking a vote on the forum isn't giving a fair vote for the regulars on the Tanks a Lot server. I scrolled through the forum users list and I see only a small number of the regular TAL users are members. Yes, I do know those on the forum users list could be using a different username from the name they use while playing. I believe the regulars on TAL are more likely to use the name they chose in the early days or some variation of that original name, in-game and on forums.

I would also hate to lose this perfectly set up (IMHO) Aberdeen server. No TKs so disruptive players are kept to a minimum, uncaptureable home bases with the death zone just large enough and extra tanks. What's not to love?

I know this is just my opinion but I think this change would disappoint many who really like Aberdeen and have played Aberdeen only servers for a very long time. I know I will be ... devastated. I might even cry a little... .... just a little..... or maybe a lot?

I agree with Cicero, leave it alone. Server is very active as it is now, and it's the only server with Aberdeen only. You can always play the other maps on the other SiMPLE servers.
