Crash To Desktop On El Alamein

Good afternoon,

I crash to desktop when trying to load the El Alamein map 100% of the time.  The loading bar gets to about 2/3 complete and it kicks to desktop.  This only ever happens on this one map - every other map works perfectly.  I have never had any other technical issues on any other map.

I have tried reinstalling this map from the "vanilla maps" download link available elsewhere on this forum, but it didn't work.  I have searched these forums but I could not find any issue like this - the other people having crashes generally experienced this on every map.

Has anyone heard of this happening?  Is there anything else I could try doing to fix it?  This isn't a huge deal as it's only one map, but it is fairly annoying when this one comes up in the server rotation.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

...

Perhaps you have a moddified map?

You should have only 3 El Alamein-files:

El_Alamein.rfa,    El_Alamein_000.rfa    and    El_Alamein_003.rfa

...

Re: Crash To Desktop On El Alamein

Hello, thank you for the replies.  I downloaded those files again and replaced them, but it made no difference.  It crashes in the exact same place as before.

It is quite a strange problem.  I am at a loss as to what to do.  If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!  Thanks  smile

My apologies, I misunderstood what you meant in post #2.  I have checked the folder and there was indeed an _004 file there. I have deleted it, and now I will check to see if that fixed the problem.  Thank you very much sir!

Re: Crash To Desktop On El Alamein

It was, thank you!  I have no idea what that _004 file was or how it ended up there, but it did fix the problem.  Thank you all very much!
