I recently downloaded battlefield 1942 from bluedrake42's website, it came with other mods such as BF 1918, Galactic Conquest, Project Reality 1942.
I wanted to have more variety in gameplay, so I went to get the two expansion packs.
As it turns out I get the error message "Setup cannot continue, no BF1942," not permitting me to install the desired modifications.
I suspect that the installation had a registry error, which was preventing BF 1942 from being installed.
Is there any way to fix this issue? I seem to be having this issue even after installing BF1942 from bf1942f2p.com
Please reply A.S.A.P., thanks

I had those problem too but i fixed it.
first you have to uninstall bf1942.
And then again install it.
Now try to install mods in bf1942 dierectory.
Note»YOU MUST BE INSTALL IN BF1942 DIERECTORY WHERE YOU INSTALL IT EARLIER.

Right click on Setup.exe > "Run as administrator"
Next time you could install BF1942 also not in ProgramFiles, (restricted Access), but in a new folder "Games" or install it to another Harddisk if you have.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, I have also made sure that the game path displayed was correct, I lastly, checked that I had run the setup in admin mode, all of which I still get the error message.
Please post new solutions A.S.A.P.
It really isn't working at all
So... what are the instructions for using the command line in BF1942 Registry?

I have also made sure that the install location is correct [C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 1942\] but it still does not detect the existence of battlefield 1942

The version on Bluedrakes website - is diffrent from the original/origin version I believe - since it has its own launcher and shit. You need to install the proper CD version of bf1942 or the Origin version, which is not downloadable for new users anymore if you want expansion packs to work.

you run .reg file as administrator and after that reloaded you pc of course?
then i dont know what to do..
i thought with proper entry in registry you dont even need to have bf1942 installed, a mod setup will see it as game is installed
maybe most simple solution is to get another bf1942, from torrents for example, and try to instal it, or try to open mod set up file with winrar, and if succed just copy it to 1942 subfolder with mods, sometimes it works, depens of type of installer
or wait till a person who really understands the issue answer here

Ya, if you manage the right registry settings manually, you don't need to install bf1942
