does stolen valor cover...

fictional militaries? for example, what if someone called themselves a private first class, wore an outdated american combat uniform, specified they weren't ever in the us military, and wore a helmet tab with three dots in horizontal series, clearly not american? (not my specific situation, but i'm curious)

i think its bad when someone does it for a benefit, also it can be cosplay..
but why?there must be an exciting story which you gonna tell?
