Re: Console key :)

Hi,

In your Documents folder (alias %USERPROFILE%\My Documents) create this folder structure: Battlefield 1942\mods\BF1942\Settings\Profiles\Custom\Controls . Then go to <BF1942 DIR>Mods\Bf1942\Settings\Profiles\Custom\Controls and copy Common.con to Controls folder you have just created in Documents. Open Common.con file with any text editor and search for "ControlMap.addKeyToTriggerMapping c_GIToggleConsole", now change IDKey_Grave to IDKey_0. Console will now open when you press 0 key. Better change it to another key, that does not get used, for example, key before backspace is IDKey_Equals. You must use Custom profile for this to work.

Re: Console key :)

There is already a wiki for Battlefield 1942: http://battlefield.wikia.com/wiki/Battlefield_1942.

Re: Console key :)

What profiles/folders do you have in <BF1942 DIR>Mods\Bf1942\Settings\Profiles folder?

Re: Console key :)

If you are using "My Profile" you have to create My Documents\Battlefield 1942\mods\BF1942\Settings\Profiles\My Profile\Controls folder and follow the same steps.

Re: Console key :)

any ideas why it doesnt work for me? in win7 the folder structure should be created in
"roaming" instead of "my documents"?
the following should not be related, but still: my qwerty keyboard has some added media buttons, its plugged to notebook, when i play, some buttons on "build in" keyboad such as F keys, Enter, and some others alt keys, do not work, but "external" keyboard works just fine, only thing that i cant bring console, a minor thing, but cant read missed chat because of it sad
