BC42 issue

Hi folks, I am having an issue with bc42 that is not allowing object spawn templates to be created.
I select the object (bf109 or any other vehicle) for the axis team and it selects but freezes the background and does not allow me to select an allies team object. I have never had this issue before with bc42, is there a way around this or have I got a totally messed up version of bc42? I have tried uninstall and reinstall multiple times, and everything in the .cfg and .lst files are pointed where they need to be.

Hello,
Maybe it is a compatibility setting with Battlecraft 1942? Have you tried running in Windows XP compatibility mode?

I have bf1942 and bc42 always set to compatibility for xp with service pack 2.
