I just recently set up a BF1942 server on Linux Ubuntu.
However, after several starts, the following error message appeared and it did not even start.
Rebooting the server and disabling the firewall did not help.
----------------------
2024-06-13 20:40:50 : Battlefield 1942 Server Manager v2.0 (final)

2024-06-13 20:40:50 : WARNING: PunkBuster is not installed on this server. All PunkBuster commands in Server Manager will have no effect until PunkBuster is installed.
2024-06-13 20:40:50 : Couldn't bind server socket! Cannot assign requested address (99)
----------------------
I really don't understand what this means.
「 Couldn't bind server socket! Cannot assign requested address (99)」
Somebody please help me.
Sorry.
I have solved this problem.
I am not sure why this problem came up, but I found a hint in the command reference.
When starting bfsmd, you can now start the server manager by explicitly specifying your ip address with "-ip".
Why...? (;^ω^)
