At times where the server is less populated votes often passes, it allow players to pick the map they like.
Or after a server crash for exemple, to avoid playing the same map.

I have played on Simple too much and I don't think I can recall or remember one single time where a mapvote was successful. On the other hand I can clearly remember the million of times I have pressed 8 to get rid of the annoying pop-up message.

I understand the reason behind the mapvote, Arp, I'm just saying it doesn't work because it 99.999999 % of times doesn't succeed. And then it just becomes an useless endless annoying pop-up message comparable to stupid advertisings.

Should make a simple if/else rule, where mapvote is active when there are less than 20 people playing.
Question is, if it's doable

Yes, ... sometimes democracy worked and the map vote passed.

Ya, with just a few people it would be nice to have an option to change the map.

Maybe it doesnt work 99% at the times you are playing, yet for other users at other times it is often a really usefull tool to have.
But I agree popup is boring and most votes have low prob of succes at prime time. There is mod for that i think if that really annoy you, maybe it was a seVen mod, cant remember.
Serebro proposition would be the most logic imo.

@Serebro: Yes I agree, but I hope and think if that was possible, it would have been done long ago.

@Arkos: Sometimes.... You mean that 0.00001% of times. I think most people press 8 without even checking what vote is going on just because of the constant spam and the history.

@Arp: Don't even try to say "maybe", because I know I'm right. Sure votes might have a higher success rate late at night/ early in the morning with 6 people online, but who knows if that isn't just a "map-change-war" among the few players online. Me or anyone else shouldn't be forced to install a mod because some like to spam the vote and it might succeed every 10th year. That is why I keep responding to this topic; untill you guys give me a honest examples about where it works and doesn't just write "ehhhhhhhhhhhh maybe" or "ehhhhhhh sometimes" "ehh in some cases". It doesn't even work when we're playing Berlin with full lockdown and a vote is going on for Market Garden. We have such a different taste in what maps we enjoy and on top of that A LOT of us is insta-hitting 8.

@Merlin: Take it easy. And stop spamming the mapvote. Oh noes you can't do that anymore 8-).

Server population is dwindled down to near nothing at night for me here.  I understand the logic behind the no map vote but not being able to change it definitely is killing server population.

That's only partly true. Try and have a game at Moongamers, the more skilled players can tell the difference.
Gameplay on simple is like sped up, not enjoyable. Very strange deaths and kills, it's not normal. Best indicator of hitreg problems on simple is that server populations goes down more than 50% on infantry maps. No such problem on Moon even with european high ping the game is more relaxed

Also on simple it is impossible to attack for one team so they'll go sniper or just leave. Wouldn't be surprised if another server mod is causing this

My 2 cents as a casual player... I think the vote should be kept in place.... as long as who is in control abides by it. Many times I see it ignored by the vote controller and they put in what map they and their friends want. Also, map vote comes on every 5 minutes interrupting the flow of the game. Vote should be at around last 10 minutes of the game...... now I will get off my soap box..
