Battlefield1942/Mods/bf1942/Settings/Profiles

I think you could just save the whole Settings folder and paste it back in after you reinstalled, otherwise you should use your profile in the Profiles folder.

an easy way to see fps you can type fps 1 in the console http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r108 … j/fps1.png
it should look something like this http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r108 … nShot4.jpg
i have some problems with my graphic judging of the regular downward spikes, for some reason my card will not run at full capacity when i play bf42 http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r108 … j/5850.jpg  so i often lag when there is too much things happening close by

This can give a clue as what you describe here is client side, as its your own gun you should here the sound immediately when you press the button. If it was any problems with the server or internet it should be the other players that couldnt hear your gun.

edit: just of curiosity, have you tried different connection settings?

edit2: faster doesnt always mean "better"

Get some allied engineers to stay in cover behind the tank and repair it and its almost unstopable. Some medics that covers the engineers and heal them and you win before you can count to 10 smile
Not much scoring for the engineers but thats another fiver.

I have used selectbf but it was a pain to get it to work. Something with a setting in the newer php versions if i remember correct. I used a windows machine but the principle should be the same i think, also i couldnt figure out the remote connection between the parser and the database so was stuck to local and updating website manually.

I have some files and templates saved, i will see if it still works.

Reporting for duty lol.  I can help atleast with the maps i´m familiar with. I suggest you set up a mod forum section for modders so they can coordinate things easier.

big_smile no, weapon reloaded, I hear the sound of me shooting, bullet numbers coming down, no hits whatsoever, than back to 30...and me dead smile

Most common reason for that is if there is bad internet connection day with packetloss. When you shot a rifle or what ever the animations and sounds starts to play, ammocounter goes down, but the bits and bytes with the "i shot" command never reach the server. As the server is the "Admin" of all guns it reports back how many bullets you have and your game (the client) has to obey and rasie the amount of bullets in the ammobar again.

i see there were some modifications made.  on the battle of britain -added ships and some other interesting things, thats nice. also i see the sniper scope doesnt go off when you shoot, was that a bug on my side? big_smile

Theres a server setting for that that can be used globaly or per map basis (see the text above, server is admin of all guns) you can if you wish to stay zoomed in, keep holding down the left mouse button after the shot with sniper, the difference between the settings is that in normal case the rifle doesnt reload until you release the left mouse button.

edit: not a server setting but a switch on/off in the weapons defination files.

with this programm, only one button used on joystik for side view?.

you can set it up to use the POW (point of view) button that some joysticks have, example hold down shift and use pow button to look around. i dont know if it works for keyboards like you need. its free i think so worth a try maybe.

for  joysticks google Joy2Key

i tried google mouse to key but there wasnt many hits, this is one of the few, perhaps it helps http://www.vsisystems.com/keyboardmouse.htm

I dont know anything about this situation i just want to point out that some planes fades out much quicker then others, even before the fogsetting kicks in depending on what map it is. Its a combination of there lod settings and cullRadiusScale factor. This is very notable with the BF109 if you put it in the Coral Sea map for example.

There is also this old trick

Right-click a shortcut to Battlefield and click copy.
Right-click an empty space on your desktop and click paste.
Right-click your new BF shortcut copy and choose re-name.
Re-name copy of shortcut to the server you want it to join.
Eg Play SIMPLE FRA
Right-click your new server shortcut and choose properties.
In the Target: section, it should read "C:Program FilesEA GamesBattlefield 1942BF1942.exe"

You need to now add your command-line switches, these are
+restart 1 (skips movies and adds) optional
+joinServer IP:PORT (adds the direct link) case sensitive

Your new taget line should read (for SIMPLE FRA)
"C:Program FilesEA GamesBattlefield 1942BF1942.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer 188.165.220.115:14567

Are u talking just about firing without causing any damage? smile.

one can mod the server for a rapid firing zooka like in the film, but its usually a bit glitchy as the animation states having trouble to keep up

its possible with orig files, it is many years ago now so its hard to remember how to do it but i will try to describe how, i researched it after i mistakenly had banned a guy for it (oups).

you stand at waterline and fire the zook then switch to pistol and move forward to the swimming begins, then back again and switch to zook and it can start the fire animation again, its very tricky to coordinate (at least it was for me) but it works. maybe there are other waus to do it. i run into a similar thing when i addtemplated a wrench to the zook kit. there was vids on youtube before but i cant find any now. i can do a quick vid if you like.

theres a zooka bug in bf42, if you interrupt the reload in a certain way it will play the animations and look like its firing but its just blanks.
