I know there's an option to add a para-spawn (like in Market Garden). And other maps offer the opportunity I'm talking about : Look at Battle of Britain, Germans only have one flag but they can choose if they spawn close to JU88 or to BF109... And the new modded map offers a third spawn for Stukas.
The same in Liberation of Caen, when allied take the first outpost they can para at the other side of the river...

I think it would also be great to change the beach spawn point : Let the flag as it is, but create a spawn point on left side and one on right side, so that people can choose where they want to attack.
I think that everyone will admit that running again and again on the beach, to get shot by a defgun at the end, is frustrating. But what when you want to run left side and you spawn right side ?
It's too random and that's a problem for allied I think : when allied open a way and you appear at the opposite, you can't reach the breach before the advantage stops.
The idea is to have more spawn points. And what about a randomized left-hand spawn that make you appear under (not in, just under) the left lower bunker ?

The problem at Midway is that when a team masters the island, then the map is almost over. Landing become almost impossible. And it gets even more difficult when the ships get far from island in order to take the northern and southern flags.
The only way at this moments to reverse the situation is to take the island back, and to get it back, ships must be driven close to the island so that chalands are more than an easy target for planes.
Conclusion : this map is perfect when ships shoot defguns and tanks and stay close to the island. But it's hell when ships try to take the northern and southern flag.

At philipines, just as Nosferatu said, what makes the map boring is the size : I've never seen Axis take all the flags. Too many roads, places to hide, mountains... So adding jeeps, why not, but I'm not sure it will help for something : I find jeeps appear kinda often. Tanks ? Useless !!! Two tanks are enough and when a team masters the three western flags, there's no need to have tanks.
Giving Axis a carrier ? Too easy for Axis. The challenge is to reach the coast to take a flag, and I think there are enough ways to get one. And the shape of the map makes impossible for allied to react quickly.
I don't think it's possible to mod this map better. If I was asked, I'd personnally answer to remove it of the list, but some people like it (especially when they join Allied and get a plane at the beginning).

No ! Not at all ! Allies NEED snipas, but snipas should play for team by spotting tanks for arti, not staying behind a chaland and luckily frag once every 5 minutes.
Some know how to use sniper. It gives a great advantage to allies.

But what I think could be great : keeping the map as it is now, and removing one tank for each team.

Hi everybody,

I need help, big help ! Please, map creators, help me !
Actually there's been a long time since I first began to create maps for BF42 with the editor. I know how to put meshes, control points, spawn points, vehicles, etc, how to make a relief, use water, etc.
But there's something I've never made successfully : texture my maps.

So, my map is ok, everything's good.
Now I want to texture it.

I click on "material mapper" button, and then select "Dry grass" for example. Then I click "Fill with material", so that the whole map is textured with dry grass.
I save, and "test the map".

But nothing changes, and the whole map seems to be textured by "default" texture. And my ground is grey, definitely grey.
I tried with many textures but nothing never changes.
However, when I click "Toggle surface view", the map is textured. But not when I play...

Please help me ! Did I miss something ? Do I have to set textures before or load a package or something ?

If it's too easy maybe :
-add 2 flaks on the way between Middle and Upper flags, and one close to the middle flag ;

Sorry HoOK but Lecter is true. And some snipers are useful in this map. The real problem is they are quickly too much, so there's no more teamplay, but we can't limit each kind of weapon...
Personnally I know it's not teamplaying no more but on this map I never nurse snipers. I keep my medkit for guys in first line.

The pilots will have to fly over the THREE flaks to shoot the tanks because the hills are straight.
I can answer "and good tankers and Axis win easily", or "good naders...", or also "good flakers" and everyone can win easily.
I'm just trying to make the map realistic. I'm ready to bet that won't be such easy for allied with planes. It just offers the chance to get an air support. They need to destroy the tanks, what is almost impossible with nades. It just prevent german tanks from camping-repairing along the game. Don't forget that once the tanks are destroyed, allied have to climb the hill and shoot all the german soldiers waiting for them.

However you can also tell me "and some good medics and allies take the first flag easily..."

Three flaks,
Middle flag : close to the wire fencing, behind the bunker. (Where some axis jump down when middle flag is taken)
Upper flag :
-One behind the right Defgun -right for Allied- (the area between barracks and the house)
-Another at the left -left for Allied- behind the barbwires

Here's a screen capture, I put a yellow point to mark the Flaks.

Paras in north flag won't have more chances as now : He'll have to fight two flakers. And to avoid flying in red zone they will have to use the line of the game. No seriously I think it's worth to be tried. Removing the nade give no chance to allied because tell me how they can fight the tanks ? Axis don't need more than 3 nades, allied do. The only chance for allied is bazookas, but when I take a bazooka nobody covers me and I don't even reach the first bunker.
Really it's gonna be easy for flakers to shoot planes, so it's not a real advantage : Planes may have even no time enough to shoot tanks. That's just an air support, as in 1944.

The rules are the rules. I agree. But I think that everybody can be frustrated by something and do something bad. I think a simple kick can refresh the mind. Then, a ban is ok. But an immediate ban is too much.

I'm sure this suggestion is gonna make people speak again and again.

What about a carrier in Omaha Beach, with a SBD and a Corsair ? Look.

In 1944, Allied troops had an air support, (historically you may learn that the bombers missed their targets and didn't destroy the Axis defenses) but when you look the map :
Allied have 2 tanks, and 1 ship.
Axis have 2 tanks, 2 defguns.

But ! Axis doesn't mind going down to the beach, because they can't take the flag. So they patiently wait for allied to come : Two ways to get the middle flag. Left, and right. For each way, 1 tank and 1 defgun.
Allied, they have a blind ship, and their tanks never reach the upper part of the way, already dead far before.
It makes of Omaha Beach a playground for snipers, before Allied assaults finally reach the hill and get murdered by tanks and nades.

Personnally, the only times I saw Allied troops win this map were with noobs, unusual players, and I easily finished at 1st place with score 60-50'-10, and +20 from the 2nd. But playing with noobs is a little boring smile

So my suggestion :
-Carrier for allies, with SBD and Corsair (we can also mod the spawn time for planes)
-1 Flak at middle flag, 2 Flaks at Upper Base.

The map is small, so planes will have the mission to help shooting tanks and defguns, avoiding flaks.

Precisely because I was banned although I should have been only warned or kicked.
Here the problem with the plane was a bigger priority to my mind and I thought I was banned because admins believed I was hacking or sth.

Ok I've been a bit nervous, because I was killed 20 times trying to get the middle flag back, without air support, and when I finally got a plane this one didn't work. How frustrating.

Actually I can't understand to be banned for this without any warning nor kick. I'm a fair-play player, I play the rules, and I play for team. It often happends that some players make voluntary TKs, with bazookas or flak against planes, or jeeps, others baserape... they get only kicked.

Joker, if you read this : I don't think it was a death bubble because this bug appeared first by stopping my plane in its course off the ground. I explain : my plane runned on the ground of 4/5 meters then stopped as if something blocked it. Then I waited and 4/5 meters ahead it happened again. The bug was the plane, not the ground !!! And when I get out of it other players took it and they had the same trouble...
The reason why I was banned is unexplainable. I know about baseraping I've been playing on these servers for months and months. I know all about the rules and never wander around in enemy's base, except for CTF maps...

I don't understand where it comes from, that's the first time it happends to me. The map was Bocage, Conquest. If you hear about.

Hi,

Today (3 minutes ago) I was playing on Team Simple FRA, and I got a bug with a plane, as if something was blocking it on the way.
Then, I got banned, although I didn't disturb gameplay or Teamkilled.
So I would like the ban to be canceled. People who know me know that I'm a serious player, with teamplay, I don't cheat, I don't tk (or unvoluntary it happends)

Please.

No actually I bought 3 times BF 1942. One for me and two for my brothers.

And I had the problem this afternoon and tonight no problem. Now it's 1:36 AM and I got this problem again.
And I payed for it, so if somebody wants to use a key he uses another than mine. On others sites I saw it could be a problem because of keygens. But they also explain that a keygen offers thousands of possibilities so that's just a lack of chance...

Hello today I was playing and kbased (although I was not kbasing but anyway)...

When I tried to re-connect, it failed because of cd-key already in use. I bought the game (no download or hack or nothing)

I never gave it to a friend or anyone else, so I think my cd-key was stolen by somebody somehow. What can I do ??? Besides if this person uses my serial, that means he's going to use it later so I will never be able to play although I payed for it !

Is there any possibility to ask the server to save this serial "as mine" and eject automaticly the thief(ves) ?

Thanks for your answers. tuia, I already tried to change the compatibility and I have the admin rights but this didn't solve the problem... I even looked whether it was caused by the Quad Core of my CPU, shutting down three cores in the processus, but it didn't help.

I'd like so much be able to play without interruption :'(

Hello, I have a problem but I noticed it was not only on this server. I know many people have this problem but I can't find a solution anyway.

The problem is : When I connect to a server, Battlefield sometimes crashes. The crash appears sometimes while loading, sometimes at the moment when I should appear on map.

I've set up all the patches in order, even 1.61b. This problem appears somehow randomly, without any reason : I know the cause isn't due to the maps.

When BF crashes, I have to launch it two or three times again until it finally works. That's kind of frustrating.
My CPU is 2.7ghz Windows 7 home 64x, 6go DDR. It may be a problem but is there any patch to fix that bug ?
