Hello, I have a problem but I noticed it was not only on this server. I know many people have this problem but I can't find a solution anyway.
The problem is : When I connect to a server, Battlefield sometimes crashes. The crash appears sometimes while loading, sometimes at the moment when I should appear on map.
I've set up all the patches in order, even 1.61b. This problem appears somehow randomly, without any reason : I know the cause isn't due to the maps.
When BF crashes, I have to launch it two or three times again until it finally works. That's kind of frustrating.
My CPU is 2.7ghz Windows 7 home 64x, 6go DDR. It may be a problem but is there any patch to fix that bug ?
Please.
ye its windows7 problem, i cant help you but i think tuia and some other guys know this
or you can search a bit on this forum i think theres somewhere a topic: http://bf-league.eu/index.php?option=co … e&Itemid=1
Battlefield 1942 wasn't designed to run on Windows Vista or Windows 7, unfortunately. I believe you need to run BF1942.exe in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode or even Windows 98/Windows ME compatibility and run it as administrator.
Thanks for your answers. tuia, I already tried to change the compatibility and I have the admin rights but this didn't solve the problem... I even looked whether it was caused by the Quad Core of my CPU, shutting down three cores in the processus, but it didn't help.
I'd like so much be able to play without interruption :'(
Try SP3 compatibility mode, choose that instead of SP2.
I've tried all compatibility modes, with and without the visual themes, etc.
And tonight, (1:05 am), loading "Midway", message : "Different Data from server" or something like that... What's wrong ???
There is a file, I've never tried it because I still use Windows XP for gaming, that possibly fixes this compatibility problems with BF1942.exe. I will try to find it and post the link here.
The "Different Data from server" error message you get is because you installed some .rfa files to your <BF1942DIR>Modsf1942Archivesf1942levels folder, like Midway_003.rfa, or changed your Objects.rfa or texture.rfa. If you want to play in our server which has content check enabled, you can't install any different textures form the original ones, like blood patch or any texture patch.
Yes of course I modified the Midway original file! How could I forget it! Thanks.
Thanks too for the link, but before downloading, do you know people who tried it? There's no name about any game this patch is for... Are you sure it's ok for BF1942 ? (fearing spywares inc)
yeah, its from well known clan that are playing mods, and are good at fighting cheaters (1 of them ended in jail )
they are doing only good for this game and players from bf
Seems it works... But it lasts more time loading maps, and when I appear, the game has already begun... WTF ???
Anyway thanks a lot for your help.
Normally there are 2 files which have to run in compatibility Mode. There's a 3rd for Punkbuster protected game.
> Bf1942.exe
> blackscreen.exe
> PnkBstrA.exe (if server asks for PB or you activated it)
