I'll stick to BF1942/BFV/BF2 + mods, as well as other game publishers that support mods for their games (e.g. GTAV).
As for the video trailer = Awful.
If the whole game is like that... 1942 will be played for 15 years more
...As long as Microsoft will not pulling out the 32-bit architecture for their current (Win10) and future OS.

I also like the "Sturmovik", but not from vanilla...
Single-seat Il-2
Dual-seat Il-2 production of 1943; aka "Il-2M"
The same applies to Il-2M3 w/ arrow wing as it eliminate the centre-of-gravity problem of both field-modified (i.e. adding rear seat) Il-2 and Il-2M, but neither vanilla or Bf1942 mods have it.

While buying retail PC (GTAV in 7-discs, Watch dogs 2) and console ("Sakura wars: So long, my love" for Wii) games last August, I saw a copy of "Battlefield 1942 deluxe edition" for Mac, and IIRC it cost at around PHP 1400+ in my country's currency.

In-game menu resolution was hardcoded to 800x600 in 4:3 aspect ratio as it was more common when BF1942 was released in 2002.
AFAIK you can stretch it to fit in desktop monitor's aspect ratio, but I don't know how to do it on laptops.

Changelog:
- patched bf1942.exe to increased virtual memory usage to 4GB
Please take note that this modified bf1942.exe is for Retail version only. Origin version will come later.

I'm unable to find Intel drivers for my T410 with ubuntu 12.04
Have you already tried searching in Additional Drivers on System Settings?
Also, I'd recommend to switch to the latest Long term support (LTS) release of Ubuntu or other Linux distro as Ubuntu 12.04 "Precise Pangolin" will stop receiving updates this April.

There were a lot of Bf1942 community mappers back then creating a scenario for the Battle of Remagen aside from the work of zara5ustra. Among of these are:

Since ziba128's download link on the first post doesn't work anymore, here's my modified .exe as well as the necessary .rfa files which allow you to play against 256 players/bots in coop mode:

Just open the README file and follow the instructions.For other Battlefield 1942 mod/s of your choice, you have to edit the game.rfa (Found in Mods/"modname"/Archives/bf1942 folder) using WinRFA, select AIdefault.con, find "aiSettings.setMaxNBots" and change 64 to 256.
Please let me know if it works.
