Pirates 2 ! The sequel Mod to the infamous Pirates Mod for BF1942 is having an event!
This event requires the base game ( BF2 ) and the Mod Pirates 2. It is being hosted by Geek Beacon within their classic gaming night. It is presented by Lost Soldiers a BF2 clan. This event has garnered support from FHSW and much of BF1942 modding community.
Events like this don't come around often. If you are a fan of the Original Mod this is your chance to experience Pirates 2!
Follow the link below for event instructions. Downloads are available to ease the burden of disc installation and patching.

Man that Port is cool stuff!! Great Event up there guys! The Parcour Maps are based off classics that any 42 Diehard should have under their belt! Looks like a lot of variety on the Menu!!

Assuming you downloaded from Simple or as Abandonware. You installed with the EA patches, Widescreen Patches and Compatibility in place. After installing expansions packs a quick repair is needed for the server browser.

We had a great time ! We set TWO of these events with the intent to play no matter HOW many people showed up and without bugging the heck out of them to do so. The first event was.. just WOW!
May the 4th is the next event. If you have never tried this mod. I encourage you to seize the next opportunity.

You can use an xbox controller on PC so I don't see why you couldn't use it with 42. I've set up 42 for use with an analog controller before. I found it clumsy and not a good interface for the game. But it can be done.
Currently I use a Merc Stealth + Trackball with most of my bindings out of default. Setting bindings is a step process. Set one at a time and save, if you hit an error find where that key or input is used elsewhere and change it.

Well he is behind the IS82 mod so having a few modded maps is an understatement. He has hundreds.
Options for content check server-side are 0 , 1 , 2 as I recall. Could be that he hasn't landed on a server running the same options as Simple lately.
Good tech support up there. Though I checked my own levels directory and I have at two custom maps past the 04 date given and can connect just fine to Simple servers. Jus Sayin'

I avoid commenting on a thread such as this.
and then, I would be careful to analyze the actions. For instance , mines only kill enemies on some servers so that can be an easy thing to do on accident.
This is the thing. Every server has a few people behind it that put in a ton of effort to bring you the game.. for free. That might be in oversight, in coding, or in media.
This player has never shown any empathy or placed any value whatsoever on that. He would run down AX or Moon the same as SiMPLE. Global Ban was warranted long ago.
Moreover, he is vindictive by nature and tends to drive players off. My opinion, backed by logs which include personal threats.
It is what it is, sad.
