They do but some of the death bubbles extend out further and others are quite close.

The SiMPLE USA admins have been in discussion recently about where mainbases end and battlefields start.   Over the coming days we will be posting images of maps in order to illustrate where we consider the mianbases to be and promote a wider discussion.  There seems to be as many opinions on mainbase limits as there are maps themselves.  So please feel free, whether you are an old-timer recalling the mighty lore of the olden ways during the golden age of battlefield 1942 when giants walked amongst men, or a newbie who's still getting a feel for the game; all well-thought-out opinions are welcome.

Kia Ora Kiwi.

What server do you play on?

Good fun to watch there Nin.  I'm all for having fresh videos to watch and seeing another player's view of the game.

In regard to recording TS, you should be able to disable your Mike as an input device somewhere in the audio settings for (fraps?).  That way you can still speak on TS but it won't be recorded.

Hang on a minute, I'm just gonna grab a beer, load up my PC and sit back and enjoy some quality flying vids.

Yeah, SiMPLE USA Server is what it is.  It's a smaller and less chaotic server that the European ones but there is a great group of unaffiliated regular players who enjoy having a fun time together night after night.  I'm sure the skill level isn't of the same caliber as that of the diehard leaguers' but I wouldn't expect it to be.  It's more like my university days' social rugby team, we never practiced, only won half our games, were in the forth division of the SOCIAL league, and we were never going to make the All Blacks, but we had a lot of fun, win or lose, week after week.

If you're round the USA side of things, just relax and enjoy yourself.  You're always welcome!

Simple FRA is a haven for hackers and one of the reasons I will not play there.  My ping to FRA server is about 22 and to the USA server it varies from 180 - 200 yet I still get a better game in the USA server than I have ever played in the FRA.
I have seen obvious hacks happening in front of other players multi zook, kit change all the usual and yet nothing ever seems to be done about it.  I stopped playing on the FRA server and moved to USA, a server that is policed properly, and the quality of the games immediately went up and the frustration levels went down.

Enough said smile

Glad to know you appreciate it USA-side.

Try joining the SiMPLE USA server and see if you get in.  Tell us what happens.

#375 Re: BF1942 Discussion » New Players from Reddit » 2015-08-10 05:24:49

Haha that's pretty funny.

I was thinking of heading over to reddit, saying a friendly hello and giving a brief summary of our server/rules etc.

#376 Re: Off-Topic » Well, It Finally Happened - USA Server » 2015-08-09 14:03:43

Yeah it seems to be because of reddit.
Lots of brand new players.

#378 Re: BF1942 Discussion » New Players from Reddit » 2015-08-09 10:34:28

Haha I just came on to say the same thing!

[Global] Czar_Alek: where are all the new players coming from?
[Global] Newbie: reddit
[Global] Czar_Alek: what subreddit?
[Global] Newbie: /r/gaming
[Axis] Ikeath: HIDE
[Global] RoflJason: thats how i found it

Anyway, they seem to be a mix of fresh newbies and older returnees - not a bad group so I wasn't banning anyone, but they still need to have the rules explained to them.

lol absolutely not ! You should have taken that at face value.

But when we beat you at the semi-finals like always, then I'll laugh big_smile

Once upon a time France was indeed the boogeyman team for NZ rugby - in the World Cup. But last time we met as World Cup rivals NZ managed - some how - to absorb the pressure and get the win.  So now, I'm sorry, we no longer fear the French like we once did; and we really, really did: I did.  Next time we meet in the World Cup, my friend, it will be a meeting of two worthy adversaries, but not a meeting where one team has any suspersticious hold over the other, those days are gone.

But that is the future, I am now still lamenting the unfortunate defeat we suffered at the hands of our nearest and dearest rivals, our transtasman brothers, cousins, and arch enemies.  I salute Australia; the winners of the Rugby Championship trophy for 2015.

This story ain't over yet, not by a long shot!

Go The All Blacks!!!

#389 Re: Off-Topic » Road to the Rugby World Cup » 2015-08-06 10:35:44

Nice topic choice!

Here's one of the most nerve-racking games of recent years, the All Blacks vs Ireland in 2013.  A little background: Ireland and New Zealand have played each other 28 times over the past 110 years.  Ireland has never beaten New Zealand, the closest they came was a draw in 1973.  Ireland is a top class team in world rugby, they are currently third on the World Rugby Rankings slightly behind South Africa, and they have beaten all other top class rugby nations.

This match took place at a sold out stadium in Ireland.  It was the start of the Irish playing season and the final game of New Zealand's; New Zealand had won all 13 games they'd played so far and were one victory away from being the first team of the professional era to finish a calender year unbeaten.  Ireland, however, were fired up and full of self-belief that they would become the 6th rugby nation to beat the All Blacks.

Watching the first quarter it indeed looked as if the Irish would make history that day.  The men in green shot out to an unanswered 19 point lead after just 18 minutes and were playing with an enthusiasm and passion the ABs seemed unable to match.  The ABs looked tired, it'd been a long season and they looked as if their minds were already in holiday mode.  When the game restarted after halftime the Irish were up 22-7 and looked to all but the true ABs believers that they would have the match sewn up and the trophy in the cabinet before long.  But there are a few undeniable truths about the All Blacks.  Firstly, they they will weather any storm, absorb any pressure, and counter attack when the time is right.  Secondly, they listen to their coach and at halftime he definitely had a few words to say!  Finally, whereas most teams will train for an 80 minute game of rugby, the All Blacks prepare for 85 minutes, they make sure there's full in the tank at the end.  Oh, and of course, the All Blacks hate losing.

This video shows the last minute of regular playing time when Ireland was on the verge of a historic victory against the All Blacks.  It was 22-17 to Ireland, meaning NZ needed a try to draw and a conversion to win.

TLDR?
New Zealand vs Ireland.
Ireland have never beaten NZ.
It was a close game.
