Hi Sentinel,

Thank you for offering to help. We will discuss internally and communicate to you, after.

If you see someone cheating, you can report him in the appropriate forum section (Report Abuse), referring player name, map played, and the time in CET. Thank you.

I forgot to change that in El Alamein CTF. Thanks for reminding. You can exppack the flags, but you will waste your exppacks.

Very nice video and very good aim. I enjoy infantry action play. Well done!

If you want to know the hitpoints and damage for each weapon you can read the table: http://www.realtimerendering.com/erich/ … ngrid.html

According to that table, 2 shots at head from mp40 medic gun (15+15) kills. You need 4 shots at the body to kill and 6 shots to the arms/legs.
I'd say for infantry action learn to adjust your aim to your ping.

Hmm... I don't know if in the new version 1.612 the client sends his keyhash to the server, and the server discards it, or the client does not send any keyhash. If the latter, that would mean the client executable would have to be modified, just for a ranking system, which seems to me utopic. I believe to get ranking system assigning unique ranks for the new version 1.612, you'll have to associate the IP address or subnet of every player to his nick name.

The most common asked question in the servers is "how do I open the landing craft's door?". How many times did I answer it...

Ok, since you have no previous bans, your ban will removed. Please, follow the server rules and respect all players.

Siema smile

You were banned 06 November 2012 19:09:34 CET in Iwo Jima map by LastResort for disrupting gameplay. Are you sure you did nothing wrong with the carrier?

Amazing goal! If it was Rooney scoring it, it would be goal of the year. If it was Cristiano Ronaldo scoring it, it would be goal of the century.

A countrys laws override EULA anyday, they often stuff things in EULA that would never hold in court. It can be such things like your right to make an backup disc or your right to sell used software to another part etc.

I don't know much about laws and I don't care. Quoting from http://tos.ea.com/legalapp/WEBTERMS/US/en/PC:

Wouldn't it be easier to modify the ranking system files? smile

Hehehe. That's a new record. smile I think you can reach 128 players in your server, with some special modded maps.

I don't think it's legal, it's probably stated somewhere in the end-user license agreemen (EULA), but I don't care. I'm patching/hacking the executables for the benefit of BF1942, opposite to those that hack the game to cheat.

That's cosmetic stuff. I've just played with a v1.6 client in a v1.612 Linux server. I changed the netcode version, only one byte change. Now the difficult part is to patch the client checksum. Any suggestion, s[sk]?

You are unbanned. It was a mistake, sorry.

I'll add some AA guns to the airfields to counter base raping.

so is it possible to make patch switcher to 1.612 just like we have now?

It is possible, I guess. The biggest hurdle is to send the correct client checksum to the server, to accept the connection.
EA wouldnt be pleased if that was released. You wouldn't need to sign up an account on Origin to play BF1942 v1.612.

#2992 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Battlefield 1942 FREE on Origin! » 2012-11-13 21:12:18

Yes, you're right, it has to pass the version check first, although the client checksum passes, because it's invalid. I'm really impressed with your work. I will try to understand better what you changed. Very well done.

#2993 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Battlefield 1942 FREE on Origin! » 2012-11-13 20:39:56

Impressive work. Looked at the code, and it's not some small changes. In the client checksum, however, I think from what you changed a client with version 1.6 could connect to the server.

#2995 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Battlefield 1942 FREE on Origin! » 2012-11-13 19:36:32

Thank you s[sk]! I'm going to see what you changed from the original code.

Thank you, Ramjet! Just tested the modded El Alamein CTF map and it looks really fun and promising. Map has been upload to the server.
