One problem I noticed is after a while, the game freezes and crashes to desktop. I am using GPU scaling in the Nvidia Control Panel + the dgVoodoo fix. Any idea why that might happen?

It's just under the GPU Setting. ("No Scaling" or "Keep Aspect Ratio").

In Bayern kaufen ein Türke und ein Deutscher Arzt gleich nebeneinander ein Reihenhaus.
Kaum eingezogen, geht der Türke zum Arzt und meint, dass sein Haus mehr wert sei, als seins.

Yep, ... then just make sure, Bf1942 is running only at dedicated Grafic AMD Radeon.
Perhaps you need a workaround, if you can't see the crosshair in the game. But first, make it running.

After that the game starts without the Menu and connects directly to the server you have choosen. For other servers you can just put more links with other adresses on the Desktop.

For Intel IGPU the Custom Resolution option was removed in the panel, but still there.

Dedicated Grafics should have anyway a option to add resolutions. (With the driver installed).

Btw. Try once inGame, (if the Resolution on DP does not work as it should), to disconnect the DP Cable, then put it back on, go to the InGameMenu and see if the other resolutions popped up.
