My apologies, I misunderstood what you meant in post #2. I have checked the folder and there was indeed an _004 file there. I have deleted it, and now I will check to see if that fixed the problem. Thank you very much sir!

Hello, thank you for the replies. I downloaded those files again and replaced them, but it made no difference. It crashes in the exact same place as before.
It is quite a strange problem. I am at a loss as to what to do. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know! Thanks

Good afternoon,
I crash to desktop when trying to load the El Alamein map 100% of the time. The loading bar gets to about 2/3 complete and it kicks to desktop. This only ever happens on this one map - every other map works perfectly. I have never had any other technical issues on any other map.
I have tried reinstalling this map from the "vanilla maps" download link available elsewhere on this forum, but it didn't work. I have searched these forums but I could not find any issue like this - the other people having crashes generally experienced this on every map.
Has anyone heard of this happening? Is there anything else I could try doing to fix it? This isn't a huge deal as it's only one map, but it is fairly annoying when this one comes up in the server rotation. Any help would be much appreciated.

I do see the server, and several other ones. I just successfully joined moongamers.com server, everything seemed fine there. I was able to join this server just fine yesterday, and played a few matches in a row, so I am very surprised to see a ban today.
Is it possible to see the stated reason for the ban? Thank you in advance for your quick reply.

Hello,
I played a few rounds on this server yesterday, but today I tried to join and I am banned. I am not sure what I did - I always play respectfully and follow the rules, and I certainly didn't do anything intentionally.
I have not played this game for many many years, probably 12 or so, and I installed it on a whim yesterday - I used the Forgotten Hope portable installer, but ended up here because there was no one on the FH servers. Would it be possible to find out the reason for the ban? I am on BF v1.61. I just noticed that PB was off (again I have not played this for so long I forgot all about PB). I have since installed it and activated it. My apologies for not reading first.

Hello,

EDIT: I found the Downloads page and managed to install PunkBuster, and it is now activated. I apologize for not reading first. I also tried to install "Battlefield 1942 GameSpy patch v1.61 ", but when I point it to the BF1942 directory, the installer says "BF1942 not found". Not sure what is going on there. Any help would be much appreciated.
