Taxi?

Where can I read the rules of the game? One admin told me that I could not drive a tank to a car...Is that so? I really thought that u only could taxi to planes...?

- It is forbidden to use jeeps as a "taxi" to get to a plane or a tank faster. That nasty admin Oscar warned me for using a jeep as a taxi a couple of weeks ago. Thing was, it wasn't your normal (very short) taxi ride. I'd just captured the flag (furthest from the Allied main) and jumped in a jeep to get back to my main quickly so I could grab the next flight out. I should add that Oscar was pretty cool about it once I explained & I guess he was at the main and only saw me getting out & paying the fare. Does this rule apply in an instance like that? ,,,,,,,P.S. Pipers purple cupcakes are the bomb!

Bob Jarunkel, the applied rule is to avoid wasting vehicles, in your case it was acceptable.

Just drive the jeep to an APC, the APC to an M10, then you can drive the M10 to the plane. Following the rules is super simple.

On a side note, if I commute from another flag, I'll often leave the jeep somewhere away from the planes. Otherwise some players get the impression that the rules are for everyone but the admins as they do not fully understand the no taxi rule and may not know you came from another flag.

I always feel guilty for swapping a jeep for a plane, I'll park the jeep miles away and walk.  One trick that makes me feel less guilty is to have a bot in the jeep so when you jump out the bot can drive the jeep away.  Of course I don't consider taxiing to be a crime on Battle of Britain.

Hmm but if I take a tank to a jeep ppl get happy to get the tank... dont see the harm.. Ill take the bus next time

The funny thing is, if someone picked you up in a jeep and drove you to a runway, dropped you near a plane, then drove off somewhere else, no rule would be broken.  However, is that not the true definition of "taxiing"?

You could also take a plane take off and then jump out parachute and land in a jeep... that would now then be to taxi naaa I understand but anyway...
