With the Battlelog team expanding to Battlefield 2142, I though it would be a good idea to create a patch to revive Battlefield Vietnam. A few people still play Vietnam, and wouldn't it be a good idea to revive it?
The patch should do three things:
1. Restore the in-game server browser to see whatever the servers that exist now.
2. Support larger screens (1080p, 1200p, etc.).
3. Remove/Crack the SafeDisc DRM (so it doesn't require the Battlefield Vietnam CD, and it works on Windows 10)
With 1942, 2, and 2142 being covered (Battlelog working on 2 and 2142, SiMPLE working on 1942), shouldn't we cover Vietnam?
Thanks!
P.S. I also posted this in feedback.

I hate MoonGamers and aX. The thread asked "Which is your least favorite server". I hate MoonGamers and aX. I play mostly on pixel-fighter, SiMPLE Tanks a lot, and SiMPLE FRA.
Oh please, BFV is absolute shit. Just let it die.
Yes, SiMPLE is on it. Had it in mind to patch Battlefield Vietnam and Battlefield 1942 Secret Weapons of WWII Demo before GameSpy shutdown and never did it out of laziness.
The in-game server browser is now restored in Battlefield Vietnam and the no CD patch still has to be done the right way. I cannot promise there will be widescreen support, though.

Wow. Happy that's happening. Thanks!
The reason we would need a No-CD patch is, as I said before, SafeDisc DRM won't work in Windows 10. Plus, what about the people who got it off *cough* piratebay *cough*.
P.S. Widescreen can be supported: Check This and This

Here it is: Battlefield Vietnam v1.21 patched
It has widescreen support, I guess, no CD patch is finally correct and has in-game browser working. Please test it.
Tomorrow I will do it for Battlefield Vietnam version 1.2, then will work on the server binaries and creating an easy GameSpy patch, like I did for Battlefield 1942.
awesome sauce. thanks !!
Battlefield Vietnam v1.2 patched released. Mind that this is a work in progress, there are still some improvements and bug fixes to be made, but the most important stuff is done.
Do not copy file to somewhere else, instead link to http://team-simple.org/download page if you wish to share, because I will update patched files, whenever possible.
But the latest BFVietnam patch version is 1.21. Why just 1.2 ?
Pretty sure that's the one he did first.
