Because of the frequent server lags due to degraded server perfomance, we've decided to move the BF1942 server to a new hosting company. This move implies we have to use another IP address: 188.165.170.241. The server will still be hosted on OVH datacenter in Roubaix, near the border of France with Belgium. So, you will have the same latency, as before. You will still be able to join the new server from the old IP address, 176.31.41.165, for some weeks, however it is better you join from the new address, to avoid traffic redirections.
The server will start running, most probably, tomorrow or on Tuesday, as I need to finish up some server settings and tests. I hope with this new server all lag problems can be sorted out. I'll inform when it's up and running.
nice, just that you should write it in news in game because server will die, same thing happened to czbfnet.
btw what is the port?

I don't think it will "die". You will be able to join from the previous IP address for at least 3 weeks, your traffic will be redirected automatically to the new server. Because of the redirection, if you join from the old IP address it will increase your ping by 1 ms.
The ports of the server will be the default ones. Anyway, the server will be listed in Gamespy Master list and people will be able to see the new IP address.
oh i didnt know about redirection, thats nice thingy
Sorry, I couldn't finish setting up the server today, as promised. I have a work to finish this week. When I have some spare time I'll make sure that the change is smooth and flawless. I'll do the switch this Friday.
This is not a moment too soon and lets hope it works. As it is now its really in trouble, played around 5 maps today and after every map ( I do mean EVERY) the server crashes and loads the same map back again. Without admins to runnext it just repeats the same maps. And also the occasional lags and weird registration is still there.
The server crashes are a totally different issue from the server lags/freezes and weird registration problems. Unfortunately, someone knows a method how to crash a BF1942 server, and it's using it before the new map loads, so the map gets repeated.
The registration and freezes problems are related to the CPU resources on the server. Whenever the host server is abused by other clients on the same host, the CPU resources get exhausted, since it's a fair share CPU usage policy.
I really hope that this new server, which has better specs, is much more stable.
u think its pwnzer again?
Server is running at the moment. Can any of you test the server? Please, join it at 188.165.170.241:14567. The server is not, yet, visible in Gamespy server list, you have to add the IP address, port and join it manually.
I have been testing it for some minutes, and I'm a bit reluctant. My connection had some packet drops for a few seconds while playing there.
Could you also ping the server and post your results here, with this command in DOS prompt (go to Start > Run and type cmd):
ping -n 300 -l 98 188.165.170.241 > pingtest.txt
This will ping the server every second for 300 times (5 minutes) with 98 bytes packets and create a pingtest.txt file with the results in the directory your DOS prompt initialized. Just paste your final results like this:
Ping statistics for 188.165.170.241:
Packets: Sent = 300, Received = 300, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 54ms, Maximum = 543ms, Average = 60ms
when i tried to ping server it says:
'98' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file

I tested the server a bit, it had some lag few times and once connection problems. Can't say really anything without testing it with 60 players.
Copy and paste this in Command Prompt:
ping -n 300 -l 98 188.165.170.241
1st i cant copy it to that program,
2nd i wrote it by myself exatly as it says and it said 98 .....
We tested the server, yesterday, and still had the same problems, some few lags at times and even connection problems warning messages. This server is not stable as we've desired, so we'll change to another new server. I'll have it ready probably on Tuesday and I'm confident this server will be rock solid (fingers crossed ).
ah so after 300 u put -] i put this: -| thats probably why
No, it is "L" in lowercase. If you copy and then paste it in Command Prompt window you can't get it wrong.
I'm repeating it again in detailed steps, click in Start in your bottom left corner, then click Run... (or press Windows key, the key between Ctrl and Alt keys, and R key at the same time), it pops up the Run box, like you see in the image above. Type cmd and press Enter. Now it opens a black window just as in the picture above. Now go to your browser, select and copy (Ctrl + C) this text: ping -n 300 -l 98 188.165.170.241
Right click on the Command Prompt black window and select Paste, the text gets typed in the black window and press Enter. You should see the messages coming up:
Pinging 188.165.170.241 with 98 bytes of data:
Reply from 188.165.170.241: bytes=98 time=55ms TTL=54
Reply from 188.165.170.241: bytes=98 time=54ms TTL=54
Reply from 188.165.170.241: bytes=98 time=54ms TTL=54
That's it. Wait 300 seconds and you'll have your final results, minimum, maximum and average ping values to the server.
I managed but i did it when it was about 20 people online, somehow this evening idk something is happening with server, i didnt have time last week to play
New server is up and running, its IP address is 188.165.220.115. I'm having some technical problems redirecting the traffic from the old server address to the new one, so don't be surprised if you can't connect or see it in the Gamespy list. You should update your Servers List and join directly from the new IP address.
