TL;DR
The Russian made AK-47 is popular in the US but can no longer be legally imported due to sanctions against Russia following the Ukraine tomfoolery. The US company that has domestic rights to use the name "AK-47" will begin manufacturing the weapon in the US. It's not clear whether the weapon will be an authentic copy or just look similar and carry the same name. AK-47's will continue to be made in Russia as well.
Note: This is unrelated to AKB-48, which is a Japanese idol group.
Stupid article. AK-47 is just a name of model which is out-a-date a long long time. It's maybe popular somewhere among the Somali pirates or terrorists. Kalashnikov is a concern to bear the famous name of Mikhail Kalashnikov who died a couple of years earlier. They make a lot of weapons and I don't know what they suppose to do with this obvious problem when some people across the ocean want to make money using their brand name.
Why ak -47 ? Its very old
They should go for aek-971
