Half maps are CTF ?

Ok guys,

I got already disappointed that the rtr events happens on saturdays, that's the only day in the week I really have time to play as I want. I have to stand this although there's a server for this mod. It's purely a non-sense, or if you do so, put the vanilla maps on the RtR server. What's the point in having 2 servers with RTR and no server with vanilla ?

Then I connected today, and I saw that half of maps are CTF. Are people going crazy ? Did I miss something ? Do you wanna kill the server ?

I think it would be more stable to come back to the previous way : RtR maps on RtR server. Classic maps on Classic server.
And about the mode CTF/TDM/CQST then why not setting a vote on the forum, and people can vote of how they want each map...

I agree with ctf part, ctf is boring and i don't usually play it and server is usually empty when ctf is on.
sw+rtr is 1 day in week so i don't think it's bad idea, you have 6 days to play classic server

But I don't have time to play the 6 other days in the week. The server is not only for me, I agree, but I think that most of people are in the same situation, working the week and playing at week-ends. Then change the date (Friday, sunday) or remove the event.

Or as I said, then PUT THE CLASSIC MAPS ON RTR SERVER. So that it's 100% non-sense but at least those who don't want to support shitty maps like PeenMÜDE and those kind of crap can at least break for a little Battleaxe or Berlin...

hi all

Agree with zapp, i also play only Saturday night and i understand that server is not only for me, but why put rtr and sw when there is Simple dedicated server only for rtr and sw? I write this because i like playing on simple more than on ax and would like to continue to do so. But if majority of u like rtr and sw on Saturday, ok for me then (lot of ex-Simple players on ax to fight with .

I agree with CTF maps part too. Yesterday 30% of people left when Gazala CTF was loaded.

1 day of the week is for RtR+SW maps, the other 6 days classic maps, for variety. The goal is to draw players attention to Road to Rome and Secret Weapons expansion packs, so they may download it.
CTF maps are played for a change of gameplay and usually in the morning when there are few players. Gazala CQ and El Alamein CQ have too many planes, in my opinion.

then remove the rtr sw server, this saturday there was about 40 people max as i remember(and again some players on rtr server in same time), i think it would be better to have this event once or 2x a month

I like CTF and the expansion day too. Its boring for me to always play on same CQ maps. But yea... most of players are satisfied with the normal maps. Or we can say, they are against these changes.
Anyway, keep the RtR+SW day this week too and see if the population is growing or not.

If you want to play RtR maps, then go to the SiMPLE RtR server. I used to go there sometimes, before the event happened. It's not a question of being against changing.
Would you cook in your shower just in order to cook in another room ?

I think that RamYam and I understand 100% : I mostly play on SiMPLE servers, I don't want to leave for AX, I like the maps, the rules, the people, the mods.

I think that Denny's idea is not bad, too : Maybe not every saturday, but 1 saturday per month is enough. Cause now it's not an event, it's an habit. An event is sensed to offer to people the opportunity of discovering. Once they discovered, they don't have to discover every saturday (Saturday besides !!!)

And then if they want to play on again, then they know they can join RtR server.

About CTF and other modes, I'm not purely against, it changes the view of each map and it's not a bad idea. But I don't think that all maps are right for CTF, maybe we should think about before changing mode.
