Battlecraft : Add collision to a building

Hi all !

For modders mainly : I have a problem, making a map, I used the silo (called "bclas_m1") but I encounter the problem that this building is "ghost mode", that means I can walk through, and also bullets.

Do you know a way in order to add collision to a ghost building ?

Thanks.

Re: Battlecraft : Add collision to a building

Zapp, you should post BF1942 modding questions in www.bfmods.com forum. That's the place to go. Better yet, before posting there you should search that forum, probably your question has been answered before.

Yes, for some unknown reason it doesn't have a collision mesh. But it does in FH mod, here is it: http://yadi.sk/d/-enMlXxv8Sqxf

Battlecraft is not very easy to handle. It comes with time, but the more you try things, the more you handle it.
The items have names and render that make you lose yourself (sometimes you put something, you don't see it in battlecraft, but you see it in battlefield, and sometimes the names of items are not explicits)

Besides, there are a lot of little details that will give some personality to your map, like fog settings, skyboxes, light effects, and it may be sometimes faster to make 80% of the map than the 20% left. Because those 20% consist in the details, the little thing "that makes that..." and that are what make a map interesting to play (especially for inf maps)

If you want to create maps, I can help you, I won't be connected a lot on xfire at the moment, I'll be more in a week. So you can begin by getting used to battlecraft, the different buttons, settings, how to put the meshes...
Concerning modding, it's a bit harder and you need to learn some instructions, I won't be the best teacher for it.

Anyway, Thanks sunny for your advices, I'll pick a look on bfmods forum wink

Of course, it will change from killing you again and again... XD

This site seems to show some tricks for battlecraft. I read it only quickly at the moment, it seems to speak about a lot of interesting things...

Re: Battlecraft : Add collision to a building

Didn't know that you created maps, Tommy. I have played before your BF_de_AZTEC map, when I was testing lots of custom maps. I will test this new map, it looks good.

Well ty.That was converted CS map just to see hows fit (in that time i had idea to convert to bf all of cs most common maps such are de_dust, Italy, etc) but i wasn't satisfied how they look in BF. Also some friends give me negative opinion for that so i leave it.Anyway i make maps all these years and still doing that, but mostly i experiment with them rather than to upload them for others, especially when u know u work something for 10 years old game which is too much in video game industry. But i'm still in that and i'm glad when see some1 else also make maps for BF like Zapp is doing.:)

In 3ds max 5.1;Import>Scale>export back but only in maps standardMesh folder not directly in game.
If u have no max, than u can use Gmax1.2 which is free.Check at "turbo squid".Also u need Battlefield MDK 2.75 in order to install gmax or 3ds max tools(to manipulate with bf42 objects/meshes).

Solved.Shit "Botinator 5" and other programs like this when generate, they put aditional line in conquest.con file(not know reason) and that caused problem for conquest mod to load. You can modified it manually;remove line "run ai" in both conquest.con file:one in root map folder and 2nd in Game Types folder.Or download again file;i'll upload 'em tomorrow when competition finished(there at Gamebanana) coz i cannot earlier(Rules).

Botinator sucks, use Battlefield Singleplayer Creator Beta
v0.2.1, it's way better, and, btw, removes that "run ai" line by itself

Re: Battlecraft : Add collision to a building

Ok thanks for information guys. But I haven't enough skill to overload some softwares as you're telling me :s
At the moment I think I'm offered a lot of possibilities with BC only. Actually, the fact is : How a player can have fun ? It starts with a strategic map. Then : How many players will try the map ? You can't bet over 6 or 8 at the same time (more if you have relationships, it's not my situation)

That reduces the field and the size of the map. Though I'm making maps for the pleasure of making maps. I've made about 5 or 6 maps at the moment, but they won't maybe never played sad
Some would tell me I waste time. I don't think so, I just develop my imagination...

Re: Battlecraft : Add collision to a building

I could set some screenshots, but the quicker way is to download and try them.

http://rapidshare.com/share/B34466E7441 … 630DECCF69

Click on the white square with "download" or "télécharger"
Then tick the one you want (you can download only 1 by 1) and under there's a blue text "download" or "télécharger".
